Fergie claims she and Princess Diana were arrested at her hen party

Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson has revealed an amazing story that she and the late Princess Diana, who were close friends after they both embarked on relationships with members of the Royal Family, got arrested at the former's hen party.

Fergie, who married Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, in July 1986, after an incredibly short engagement following the Royal's proposal in February of the same year, said they both got in trouble when they dressed up as police officers.

The Duchess of York, 63, has recalled how she embarked on a hilarious night out with the then Princess of Wales, who had married then-Prince Charles in 1981.

During the festivities, Fergie and Diana decided it would be a good idea to dress up as law enforcement, the Duchess has claimed, but it led to an unfortunate incident.

The Duchess has claimed that real police ended up arresting them for impersonating officers.

Luckily, once law enforcement realised who the two women were, they were released.

Speaking on The Kelly Clarkson Show in the US, Fergie recalled: "It was extraordinary, because we went to a nightclub, of course, you go to a nightclub with the Princess of Wales.

“We sat down, and the waiter came up to us and said, ‘Excuse me, this is a members club.

"'It’s for fun, and we don’t serve police officers here.'"

Laughing, the Duchess went on to say that both she and Diana opted to hide their sparkling diamond engagement rings when they were taken inside the police van.

What's more, the princess even took the party one step further when she spotted a packet of 'smoky bacon-flavoured crisps' inside the vehicle.

The Duchess recalled how the Princess of Wales "started taking and eating them," but the police were annoyed.

According to the former Royal, one officer sat in the front seat yelled “You can’t do that!”

OK! has contacted a representative for Buckingham Palace for comment.

Fergie's hen party was reportedly a "riot", according to Royal expert Tom Quinn, and the group of women ended up partying the night away in exclusive London club Annabel's.

Prince Andrew was also said to be enjoying his stag do during the same evening, with the two groups reconvening at the end of the night.

Both Diana and Fergie finalised their divorces from Prince Charles and Prince Andrew, respectively, in 1996.
