Fern Britton discusses returning to childhood home in January
Fern Britton has shared a health update after she underwent shoulder replacement surgery.
The television presenter shared on X, formally known as Twitter, that she has now started seeing a physiotherpist to help her new shoulder.
Posting the same candid shot of her in a hospital gown, she penned: “Morning all. First physio today on new shoulder. Thinking of everyone else going through this life-improving routine.”
Yesterday, Fern posted the same pic on Instagram to her 123,000 followers with her arm in a sling and revealed she had undergone surgery.
“Morning all!! shoulder replacement done and a success,” she started.

“I can’t thank the staff at #StMichaels #NHS hospital in Hayle, cornwall, enough. Such care and kindness. Back home, Barbara is in her doctors uniform and attending to me constantly.
“Mostly telling me it’s time for her breakfast, elevenses, lunch,tea, supper. Thank you to my friends Jane, Two Cups, Double C and my lovely girls Grace and Winnie.
“I’m very lucky! See you soon… when I can train my left hand to put a bit of lippy on without looking like The Joker.
“And if you are in similar situation I send my love.”(sic)
Many of her 147,000 followers flooded the comments section of her tweet with messages of support.

One fan wrote: “Wishing you a speedy recovery Fern! I’ve had my knees, hips and one ankle replaced so following with interest your experience of a new shoulder!”
A second person commented: “Good luck! I was very lucky when I took a heavy tumble over a month ago, arm is still sore but thankfully no bones broken. Take it easy, no good rushing around at our ages. x.”
A third typed: “Wishing you a very speedy recovery, Fern. My husband will hopefully be there in a couple of weeks going through the same op! x.”
A fourth said: “Morning Fern. Hope the shoulder heals well & you feel better soon. Hugs xx.”
