TV presenter Scarlette Douglas may be set for a confrontation in the jungle as scathing tweets were unearthed that show the star slamming former Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
With the launch of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Right around the corner, some fans are eagerly awaiting the former Health Secretary's entry the jungle.
Meanwhile, other fans, including Loose Women’s Denise Welch, are appalled that the politician has been included at all.
There is one thing everyone can agree on though, and that’s how interesting it will be to see the other celebrities' reactions to the West Suffolk MP.
One celeb who might find herself biting her tongue is A Place In The Sun presenter Scarlette, who sent a few tweets about Mr Hancock during the height of the pandemic.
In June of 2021, after his rule-breaking kiss and affair were exposed, Mr Hancock took to Twitter to share an apology video.
Within 15 minutes, Scarlette tweeted “good, get out of here” which ironically sounds eerily familiar to the show’s name.
While Scarlette did not mention Mr Hancock by name, her responses and timing suggest she was referring to the political news.
“He’ll be looking for a place in the sun now,” replied one fan, to which Scarlette wrote back: “As long as I’m not his presenter!”
“Shouldn’t have been given the chance to resign… should have been sacked!” another Twitter user replied, with Scarlette this time replying an affirmative “agree.”
Earlier his week, behavioural and media psychologist Jo Hemminngs spoke exclusively to OK! about the casting news and said that Mr Hancock seems to be looking for some fame now he’s “pretty much over his political career.”
"I do think he actually believes that he's got an opportunity here of becoming mainstream popular outside of the political arena,” Jo added.
It was also revealed this week that Mr Hancock will receive one of the highest I’m a Celeb pay packets to date, which many people took issue with given that he was insistent on simply wanting to promote his upcoming dyslexia campaign.
“Matt’s pay deal with I’m A Celebrity is around £400,000 which is one of the largest ever show fees to have been paid out," an ITV source told The Sun.
The source added that ITV is "keen for viewers to think the deal was worth around £150,000 but in reality it’s over double that.”
“They asked him to be on the show three times in a matter of weeks and the money definitely helped seal the deal," they said.
