Following the announcement that they are expecting their first child together actor Gary Lucy and former Love Island star Laura Anderson then confirmed the rumours that they had split up following their whirlwind romance.
Gary, 41, and Laura, 33, met on the recent series of Celebs Go Dating, after Laura joined the cast following the breakdown of her relationship with Dane Bowers.
However the pair have since called it quits after they attended their baby's first scan, with Laura said to be adamant that the relationship is over.
Gary has now broken his silence as he opened up about the split to The Sun on Sunday, telling the publication that it has left him "devastated" and that he was “head over heels” in love with the TV star.
Revealing that Laura called the relationship off after he refused to move from Essex to her native Scotland, the Footballer's Wives star told the outlet: "Laura did want me to move but I have my responsibilities here. I have four kids and all the things that go along with that so it’s very difficult, if not impossible, to uproot at this time.
“Having gone through a divorce, my children need me and living such a long way from them just would not be possible. I wish I could break myself in half. I would if I could.”
Gary continued: "I’m really gutted. I haven’t stopped loving her and I won’t stop loving her.”
Rumours of the pair's split had been rife in January, when Laura shared a couple of cryptic posts to her Instagram Stories.
In one, Laura posted a selfie with her dog, to which she added the text: "I know i've been quiet on here and not myself this week or so. I'm going through a very difficult time, I actually don't think I've ever felt so stressed in my life.
"As we know Instagram isn't real life but over sharing negativity has never been something I like doing. Anyway my thought of the day for us all is – Never lose yourself or your voice," which she followed with a heart emoji.
Amid the heightened publicity following the announcement of both her pregnancy and split, Laura took to her Instagram Story to hit out at trolls who have been sending her abusive messages.
The reality TV star shared a statement, which read: "If anyone writes anything negative on my page re my pregnancy you will be blocked.
"Nobody on here except my family and friends knows the reality regarding the past few months of my life because I don't comment on press articles or give details of any other party.
"I will never play the victim even in my vulnerable state. I'm simply moving on with my life with my head held high."
She continued: "I do not appreciate abuse at a time I am trying my best to protect myself and my unborn child. Please think before typing."
