Having been put under medical supervision at Balmoral, Prince Charles, his wife Camilla, and Prince William are all currently travelling to Queen Elizabeth II’s Scottish residence. In light of the news, GB News Breakfast presenter Isabel Webster, who hosts alongside Eamonn Holmes, tweeted to her 40,000 followers that she hoped Prince Harry would seize the opportunity to squash tensions with his family and attend to the Queen.
In a tweet she wrote: “If ever there was a time for Prince Harry to mend bridges… I know where I’d be if I was him..”
The presenter, who joined the network back in May 2021, recently shared her thoughts on the Royal family after she retweeted reports concerning Prince Harry and Meghan Markle declining an invite to visit the Queen.
Webster witnessed author Katie Nicholl tell GB News Breakfast that Prince Harry, 37, and Meghan, 41, were “invited at the end of August”.
Katie went on to say: “The Queen always has this wonderful, extended stay for her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. There’s a big sleepover at Balmoral, they were invited to go to that.”
Currently on a whirlwind European trip, having visited Dusseldorf for the Invictus Games ahead of attending the WellChild Awards in the UK, the US-based couple are thought to have returned to Windsor over the weekend.
Katie continued to say: “I know from sources very close to the Prince of Wales that he is prepared to do anything it will take to get this relationship back on track, I think not least because he wants to as a father.
“He wants to see his children as a grandfather, but I think he’s acutely aware that if there is this rift that threatens to overshadow his future reign as well. There are other issues at play here.”
Despite the pair’s hectic schedule whilst they remain this side of the Atlantic, a spokesperson for the couple most recently announced: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be travelling to Scotland.”
The couple are also cancelling their forthcoming appearance at the WellChild Awards in London, set to take place Thursday evening.
Largely agreeing with Isabel’s tweet, Twitter users jumped at the chance to reply. One user @alanmacphail84 said: “100%… He would regret for the rest of his life if he didn’t at least make the effort to be there.
“She sadly has gone downhill since Prince Phillip passed away, and I don’t think the issues surrounding Harry AND Andrew have helped.”
Another user commented on the coincidental timing, that the Queen’s health has deteriorated at the same time Harry and Meghan are in the country.
@lottie1924 said: “I believe it’s fate that he is currently in the UK and he should be with his family.”
Along with Prince Harry and Meghan, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie are all heading to Balmoral.
It comes after the monarch appointed Liz Truss as Prime Minister at Balmoral on Tuesday in a busy day which also saw Boris Johnson tender his resignation.
Concerns for the 96-year-old monarch’s health began as she was advised to postpone a virtual Privy Council meeting on Wednesday after being instructed by royal doctors to rest.
Leading concerns for the Queen’s health, Piers Morgan also took to Twitter, to send his well wishes, alerting his eight million followers of the “serious news”.
Sharing a picture of the royal alongside a praying hands emoji, the television personality wished her “all the best”.
“I can’t even imagine Britain without this Queen. Very unsettling day,” he tweeted shortly after.
