Reality TV star Bethan Kershaw has been branded a "breath of fresh air" after sharing photos of her 'real body' and opening up about her self confidence.
The former Geordie Shore star, 28, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share photos from her recent getaway to Ibiza. Bethan posted a picture of her posing in a bikini and one of her not posing, as she spoke about how "different angles" make your body look in snaps.
Bethan, who also starred on Celebs Go Dating, went make-up free and modelled a red patterned bikini as she soaked up the sun by a pool.
She detailed how she feels "so comfortable" in her body before admitting she does have "bad body image days" but has "decided" to love herself more.
"SAME BODY. DIFFERENT ANGLE," Bethan began her post. "When you guys ask me how do I feel so comfortable and confident in my body. Well first of all this isn’t something I feel every single day, I have bad body image days too but I’ve decided I’m going to love myself more and talk about my body less as it does absolutely nothing for yourself or the people around you when your self deprecating."
She continued: "You have got to grow tired of your own crap I’ll be honest. You have to grow tired of constantly sleeping on your own happiness. You have to think differently to actually change your mindset. You have to be conscious of the company you keep as the people around contribute to how you see yourself too."
The TV star went on to tell fans to stop "comparing your journey" to other people's journey, before opening up about her weight. She wrote: "Less comparing your journey to someone else’s journey and get rid of the narrative that you can’t work on yourself while accepting where you are at the same time."
"Your not fat. You have fat there’s a difference and even just starting with that can help shift yourself from actually identifying with your weight," the 28 year old penned. "Weight fluctuates in life so stop identifying with it. Start viewing your body as a divine creation from the universe instead of something that needs to be changed, altered or corrected according to beauty standards created by mankind that are constantly changing."
Bethan's followers flocked to support her and praise the star for her candid post, with one person writing: "What a breath of fresh air in comparison to the bullshit diet adverts we see constantly or encouragement to starve ourselves! You look amazing and this is what our daughters should be seeing, a women embracing what she has and enjoying life as it should be."
"Need more people like you on here you are so beautiful!!" a second wrote, while a third person added: "You’re amazing for being so open about this".
