Georgia Harrison admits she will ‘never be the same’ again after Stephen Bear revenge porn ordeal and compares it to ‘grieving’
Georgia Harrison has admitted she will never be the ‘same person’ again after her horrific Stephen Bear revenge porn ordeal.
The former Love Island star, 28, was left devastated when her ex Stephen, 33, uploaded footage of them having sex to his OnlyFans account without her consent.
Former Celebrity Big Brother star Stephen made £2,000 from it and was jailed for 21 months in March for voyeurism and two counts of ‘revenge porn’.
Now, Georgia has told how she has been forever ‘changed’ by the ordeal and said she will never be the same person that she was before.
She told how the experience has made her more ‘resilient’ and that she has been rebuilding her confidence after the ordeal took a toll on her mental health.
Hard times: Georgia Harrison has admitted she will never be the ‘same person’ again after her horrific Stephen Bear revenge porn ordeal
She told The Sun: ‘I’ll never be the same person as I was before, these things definitely do change you.
‘But humans are constantly evolving at each stages in their life, no matter what sort of pushes them to be a new version of themselves, so I definitely don’t feel I’m the same person as I was but I feel really really confident and happy in myself and happy with the stage in my life that I’m in.’
Georgia compared the revenge porn ordeal to grieving and said her emotions have come in ‘waves’ and that she has had to be ‘patient’ with herself.
‘I always say victims of image-based sexual abuse, it’s very similar to a grieving process, as if you lose a friend or family member,’ she said.
The reality TV star said she has gone to therapy after the ordeal took a toll on her mentally, but told how she generally uses more holistic methods of healing.
She also explained how victims of sexual abuse can struggle with trust issues and told how it is has a ‘knock-on effect’ on her dating life, leaving her fearing that people will think of her ‘differently’.
Georgia confessed that she has struggled with those thoughts but told how if the situation was reversed, she wouldn’t ‘judge’ anyone for a revenge porn ordeal.
Amid her struggles with the horrific experience, Georgia also admitted she has been trolled online and has had to grow a thick skin to deal with the cruel comments.
Jailed: Georgia’s ex Stephen, 33, uploaded footage of them having sex to his OnlyFans without her consent and was jailed for 21 months for voyeurism and two counts of ‘revenge porn’
After her own revenge porn ordeal, Georgia was among those to call for a change to government legislation, which was finally passed at the end of June.
She recently went to the Ministry of Justice to meet with Lord Chancellor Alex Chalk to discuss why it is vital for the law surrounding revenge porn to change.
Revenge porn was criminalised in 2015, but the amendment makes it easier to prosecute as it removes the requirement for prosecutors to prove perpetrators intended to cause distress to secure a conviction.
The sharing of images without consent will also become a base offence with a maximum penalty of six months’ imprisonment.
Georgia has previously told how she believes things are moving in the right direction and said she has faith in the UK government.
‘I really believe that they care about individuals, and they’re doing everything they can to protect victims but also protect the younger generation,’ she said.
‘This is a change in history, and it’s always going to be remembered.’
As well as campaigning to change legislation, Georgia has also partnered with Superdrug to launch their own-branded consent aware condoms.

The retailer has also partnered with UK sexual health charities Brook and Fumble as well as UK Says No More and Switchboard National LGBTQ+ Helpline.
Campaigner Georgia wrote in an Instagram post of the partnership: ‘If you didn’t know already, consent is something I am incredibly passionate about.
‘That’s why I’m proud to partner with Superdrug and announce I am their new brand ambassador for their consent campaign.
‘Today Superdrug has launched ‘You Before Yes’ to tackle the important issues surrounding not just sexual consent, but consent in general.
‘It aims to educate and empower you to find your voice and equip you with the knowledge and understanding to help keep both you, and others safe.
‘I encourage you to watch this video where I share some of the horrific DMs I’ve received without consent and hope it inspires you to call out non-consensual behaviour. Remember it’s You Before Yes!’
