Girls Aloud fans ‘devastated’ by first band pic since Sarah Harding’s death

Girls Aloud fans have shared devastated reactions at seeing the band reunite in a photo for the first time since Sarah Harding’s death from breast cancer.

Sarah tragically died aged 39 from breast cancer last September.

The late star’s bandmates Cheryl, 39, Kimberly Walsh, 40, Nadine Coyle, 37, and Nicola Roberts, 36, have come together in a new photoshoot wearing matching pyjamas in honour of Sarah, as they fulfil their final promise to her to raise money for cancer research.

Girls Aloud are seen modelling their new nightwear range of navy blue star-printed pyjama sets and nighties, which are priced at £14 to £18 and available in UK Primark stores, with all proceeds going to The Christie Charitable Trust and Cancer Research UK.

The band are pictured sporting their matching nightwear in a group photo as well as individual photos, which were shared on Instagram on Tuesday, leaving fans with emotional reactions.

One person wrote: “So good seeing you all together again but at the same time it hurts so much not seeing Sarah there.

“She would be so proud of you girls. Aloud FOREVER. She’ll be so proud of you all, an amazing cause.”

A second fan commented: “This is beyond incredible Cheryl. You Kimberley, Nicole, and Nadine. Will have done Sarah proud. Raising money for such an important cause and in honour of such an amazing woman.”

A third emotionally said: “Just you coming together for this for her is everything”, adding a tearful emoji at the end.

Another fan wrote: “OMG! I am in tears. I love you all girls. I miss Sarah a lot”, while someone else poignantly added: “Such a lovely tribute. You've all done Sarah proud.”

Beside the new photos, Cheryl explained to fans on Instagram how the idea for the Primark nightwear range came about.

She wrote: “Before Sarah passed away, we promised her we would fulfil her wish of raising money for vital research to help determine young women between the ages of 29 and 40 who could be at risk of breast cancer with no genetic history.

“These pyjamas with @primark will raise a significant amount of money to help us achieve our promise to her.”

Bandmate Nadine added: “Thank you so much to @primark for asking us to curate this wonderful nightwear range in honour of our lovely Sarah. Thanks to them we are set to raise a huge amount of money.

“In addition, Primark customers will also have the opportunity to donate on top of their purchase during breast cancer awareness month in October. Our nightwear collection is available instore and online this week. We hope you love it as much as we do.”
