Girls Aloud have been rumoured to be hitting the Glastonbury stage 2024, after fans went wild following their reunion.
The swirling chatter follows reports that the iconic girl group are set to release a new single 11 years after their split.
Now bookmakers believe the likelihood of the foursome hitting the Glastonbury stage is much higher following their reunion.
The odds of the girl group performing the massive gig at Worthy Farm stage next year sits at 3/1, according to Ladbrokes.
Alex Apati from Ladbroke Live elaborated on the new predictions for Glastonbury 2024’s headliner.

Reunited: Odds of the iconic group performing were slashed after fans went into a frenzy following reports the women were set to release new music 11 years after their split
Apati said: ‘Girls Aloud threw the pop world into complete meltdown this morning with the announcement of a new single and given the reception they’ve had, we wouldn’t be surprised to see them take centre stage at Glastonbury next year.’
He added: ‘Glasto-goers love a big reunion, and with a potential tour on the cards for Cheryl and co in the next few months, we’ll be keeping a close eye on any gaps in their diary around June 2024.’
Whispers of next years Glastonbury line up have been piling in, with Coldplay, Dua Lipa and Madonna listed in leaks as potential acts.
But festival’s organiser, Emily Eavis, told the Metro that claims of Coldplay, Madonna and Dua Lipa gracing the Glasto stage were false, and also begged festival fans to stay patient.
Eavis reportedly confirmed the Sunday afternoon Legends performer is already booked, hinting that the musician is a woman.
But she remained tight-lipped on any other details about the act.
This comes after the girl group – consisting of Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, Kimberly Walsh and Nicola Roberts – were said to be working on a music video in honour of their beloved bandmate Sarah Harding, who passed away from breast cancer in 2021 aged 39.
The band arrived at a music studio in North London, with each girl in a separate car wearing caps and shades to maintain a low profile.
Girls Aloud originally formed in 2002 on ITV’s Pop Stars: The Rivals and shot to fame, achieving 20 top-ten singles and five BRIT award nominations.
Tragic: The new music will be a tribute to their beloved late bandmate Sarah Harding, who passed away from breast cancer in 2021
Exciting: The reunion has been long-awaited and is said to include a full album of music and UK tour
But they split for good in 2013, dogged by rumours of feuds between the bandmates.
After much anticipation, Girls Aloud are finally set to make a comeback, including a full album of music and a ‘massive’ UK tour in 2024.
A music source told The Sun: ‘This has been one of the best-kept secrets in pop, but it’s actually happening now.
‘The girls really came back together as friends to rally around when Sarah died, and it repaired some of the old rifts and put things into perspective.
‘Suddenly the reunion which had seemed totally impossible for so long just felt a totally natural thing to do — in Sarah’s honour.’
The girls will dress up as superheroes for the new video and producers will honour Sarah by adding in footage of the late star.
After her time in Girls Aloud, Sarah starred in Coronation Street and went on Celebrity Big Brother in 2017.
In 2020 she announced she had breast cancer and that it had spread, before releasing a memoir in 2021 titled Hear Me Out. She sadly passed away on September 5 that year.
After Sarah’s death, bandmate Nicola Roberts said: ‘Time is the most precious thing we have as human beings, it can run out at any point.
Blast from the past: Girls Aloud were formed on ITV’s Pop Stars in 2002, and went on to have numerous hits such as Sound of the Underground and Love Machine
‘I think it would be very easy to become extremely fearful, over time, when someone so young and so close to you has ran out of it and I think it’s important not to become obsessed with it because things are still happening on their own, in your own time.
‘I think it’s important to still sort of go through the pace of your life as you were, and not become frantic about your time possibly coming to an end, or someone else that you love’s time possibly coming to an end. I think that is a dangerous place to be.’
In 2022 the group reunited at a charity ball in honour of Sarah – but did not perform together.
Girls Aloud took an initial break in 2009 to pursue other projects before they split for good in 2013.
They originally formed in 2002 on ITV’s Pop Stars: The Rivals, having been chosen by judges Pete Waterman, Louis Walsh and Spice Girl Geri Horner.
Their first single Sound Of The Underground landed them with a Christmas number one.
They went on to achieve 20 top-ten singles and were nominated for five BRIT awards.
Cheryl especially has stayed in the spotlight over the years, due to her position as a judge on the X Factor, her tempestuous love life, and most recently her appearance in 2:22 A Ghost Story.
