Comedian Katherine Ryan has shared a few glimpses into her “restful” birthday celebrations, while also sharing the realities of “mum life”, as the Gogglebox star hits her milestone 40th.
In a series of images shared on social media, Katherine first showed a short clip of her morning coffee before sharing another shot clip where she is seen using a breast pump. She penned over the clip: “Can’t escape the pump”.
The comedian, who is well known for her Netflix show The Duchess, then showed off four big beautiful bunches of flowers that appeared to have been delivered to her house. Over the footage, she simply wrote: “oh sh*t did I die”.
The 40 year old is a mum to three children; Violet – who she shares with her ex-husband – Fred and Fenna Grace, who she had with her current husband, Bobby. They welcomed their youngest, Fenna Grace, last year.
As her birthday came to a close, Katherine shared a post to her Instagram where she was seen posing with her husband on a balcony as they drank glasses of bubbly.
Describing her birthday in the caption, Katherine wrote: "'You’re starting to die’. Thank you to my daughter, Violet for clarifying why I’m always tired and to my husband @bobby_k__ and @claridgeshotel for the most restful 40th birthday imaginable.”
Fans rushed to the comments to send their birthday wishes as one wrote: “Happy birthday Katherine you are brilliant”, while another said: “Welcome to your 40's they are b****y marvellous, best thing i did was turn 40 . Happy burpday”.
A third penned: “Happy birthday!! I’m turning 40 next year! Hope I’m as gorgeous as you when it comes xxx”, while another wrote: “Happy happy happy birthday you b****y brilliant woman x”.
Replying to Katherine’s caption about her daughter, another responded: “Hilarious! She's your comedic sidekick. HBD”. The TV star regularly shares snaps on Instagram of her three children and husband during family days out, or their week together.
The comedian is in a civil partnership with beauBobby Kootstra, who she has been with since 2018, but their relationship goes back even further. They first got together when they were both teenagers living in Canada, but eventually went their separate ways.
The year they rekindled their romance, Katherine returned to her hometown in Canada to film an episode of BBC's Who Do You Think You Are? and was there reunited with her old flame, Bobby, who works in broadcasting. They have been together ever since and in 2019, entered a civil partnership together.
