Bone broth diet and love of IV
Last month, Gwyneth faced furious backlash after sharing her lengthy ‘daily wellness routine’ and revealing her diet consists of just bone broth and vegetables.
As part of Dr. Will Cole for The Art of Being Well podcast, which was released on March 12, Gwyneth was asked: ‘What does your wellness routine look like right now?’
The actress replied: ‘I eat dinner early in the evening. I do a nice intermittent fast.
‘I usually eat something about 12 and in the morning I have things that won’t spike my blood sugar so I have coffee.
‘But I really like soup for lunch. I have bone broth for lunch a lot of the days. Try to do one hour of movement, so I’ll either take a walk or I’ll do Pilates or I’ll do my Tracy Anderson.
‘And then I dry brush and I get in the sauna. So I do my infrared sauna for 30 minutes and then for dinner I try to eat according to paleo – so lots of vegetables.’

Keeping fit: She added that she tries to do one hour of movement each day – whether it be walking, Pilates or her Tracy Anderson workout
She concluded: ‘It’s really important for me to support my detox.’
Listeners, however, blasted Gwyneth’s diet and professional dietitians also weighed in with their own thoughts.
Lauren Cadillac, based in Hoboken, New Jersey, created a duet with the clip on the video sharing platform to share her reaction to Gwyneth’s revelations.
In it, the nutritionist repeatedly rolled her eyes, shook her head, and gasped before claiming ‘bone broth is not a meal.’
Gwyneth had begun recording the podcast with an IV drip still in her arm.
Acknowledging the IV, she said: ‘I’m really embarrassing myself right here. I love an IV, I’m an early IV adopter.’
The actress revealed that her favorites were Glutathione and Phosphatidylcholine, adding: ‘They’re quite hard to find, and those make me feel so good.’
Host Dr. Will Cole described the IV as ‘so on-brand for both of us,’ adding: ‘We pod and IV at the same time.’
Gwyneth and Cole have been fast friends for many years.
Cole refers to himself as ‘Dr.’ which would lead many to presume he went to medical school.
But, in actuality, the functional medicine practitioner has a doctorate of chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences, a private school that focuses on alternative medicine.
His book, ‘Intuitive Fasting,’ was the first to be published by Goop Press as part of the lifestyle brand’s publishing partnership with Rodale Books.
Goop controversy
Egg crackdown: Gwyneth has often come under fire for her unusual products advertised on her Goop website. These jade eggs saw the company pay out $145,000 to settle a lawsuit
Gwyneth has often come under fire for her unusual products advertised on her Goop website.
The brand has faced backlash for showcasing expensive products with their descriptions promoting them as medical treatments.
The controversies have included vaginal steaming, the use of jade eggs and ‘Body Vibes’ wearable stickers that were claimed to ‘rebalance the energy frequency in our bodies’.
Back in 2018, Goop agreed to offer its customers refunds and pay $145,000 to settle a lawsuit accusing the company of making unsubstantiated claims about the health benefits of vaginal eggs.
The lawsuit alleged that the Santa Monica-based brand founded by the Academy Award-winning Shakespeare in Love star made unproven claims about the Jade Egg, Rose Quartz Egg and Inner Judge Flower Essence Blend, which were ‘not supported by competent and reliable scientific evidence.’
Goop advertised the Jade and Rose Quartz eggs – retailing on its website for $66 and $55, respectively – could balance hormones, regulate menstrual cycles, prevent uterine prolapse and increase bladder control when inserted into a woman’s vagina and left there for hours.
In the lawsuit Goop was barred from making any claims regarding the health benefits of its products ‘without possessing competent and reliable scientific evidence,’ and from manufacturing or selling any falsely advertised medical devices.
Dry brushing

Gwyneth swears by dry brushing her skin 15 minutes a day and says she loves to do it before going into the sauna.
The actress says the process helps with the ‘detoxifying process’ and helps with her exfoliation and circulation.
Gwyneth shared a video of how she uses the bristle body brush earlier this year.
She said: ‘It’s the morning and I have finished my exercise and I have time to take a quick sauna. So I’m dry brushing in here today.
‘Otherwise I would just do it right before shower. But I love doing it before the sauna.’
‘It’s incredibly exfoliating and invigorating and it feels like it helps gets the circulation going like it brings the blood to the surface of the skin to really jumpstart that detoxification process,’ the Oscar winner explained.
Gwyneth showcased her toned legs in a classic black bathing suit with her blonde tresses straight and loose around her.

Gwyneth has a strict workout regime. She works out five days a week for 45 minutes.
She loves doing Tracy Anderson’s dance routines mixed with strengthening workouts and keeps the room temperature high to ensure she sweats more.
Gwyneth first took up yoga when she was in her twenties and has continued to use the practice in her fitness regime three decades later.
‘I like feeling good, and I know I feel my best when I exercise,’ she previously told Women’s Health.
‘But it depends on the day—I definitely don’t always feel like doing it. I’ve made it a habit, just like brushing your teeth.
‘That’s how you have to look at it. I’ve been a Tracy Anderson fanatic for over a decade, I’m an investor in her company, so yeah, I go every morning.’
Gwyneth says she is a ‘huge fan’ of Tracy, who is has worked with a whole host of stars. She said she took it up when she had 20lbs to lose after becoming a mum and has been doing it ever since.
You know, I’m a total die-hard Tracy Anderson fan,” she previously told Shape. ‘Her method works so well for me. I’ve seen all these fads come and go, and nothing works for me the way that Tracy’s approach does, so I really stick with it. She’s amazing.
‘I stream her whenever I can when I’m in New York, and when I’m in California, I try to go to her classes five days a week for an hour. But now I’m so busy with my company, that I only do it three or four times a week.’

While taking fans through a day in her life ahead of a dinner party for her wellness and lifestyle brand Goop, a make-up free Gwyneth documented her typical morning last month.
Following a daily sweat session, the mother-of-two revealed she generally enjoys some time alone in a private sauna while sipping celery juice and reading a book.
Afterwards, she admitted to ‘feeling detoxed, a little lightheaded and very red in the face.’
‘I always followed up with a nice outdoor shower, which is one of my favorite places in the home house my shower is full of clean beauty products,’ she explained.
As she shampooed her hair, she pointed out the ‘major suds’ before raving about Goop’s conditioner smelling ‘so good.’
The actress went on to quip she uses a lot of the product because she has very ‘dry chemically treated ex-movie star hair.’
As she sat down and got her hair and makeup done, she talked about looking for ‘efficacy’ in her products.
‘Beauty products need to do what they say they’re going to do and be worth the money and you know make a really noticeable change in your skin,’ the Shakespeare in Love star explained.
The actress went on to gush her longtime hair stylist, Orlando, was doing her hair before chronicling their history together.
