Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are returning to the United States after extending their trip to England following the Queen’s death on September 8.
The source adds that, “They’ve missed the kids like crazy and have been FaceTiming them every day, but can’t wait to see and hold them again after a poignant few weeks.”
Harry and Meghan arrived in the U.K. on September 4 for several days of previously planned engagements, meaning Harry was in the country when his grandmother passed. Shortly after her death, he released a statement on his Archewell website, saying in part “Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings—from my earliest childhood memories with you to meeting you for the first time as my commander in chief to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren. I cherish these times shared with you and the many other special moments in between.”
Harry and Meghan have been spending a lot of time with the royal family following the Queen’s death, and there’s hope that tensions between Harry and Prince William could ease as they mourn their grandmother. Fingers crossed!
