Harry and Meghan look happier than ever as they’re caught on kisscam in rare appearance

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle looked to be enjoying a date night on Monday as they attended a basketball game in Los Angeles, marking their first public appearance together in months.

Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, watched the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Memphis Grizzlies in game four of the NBA playoffs on 24 April at the Crypto.com Arena in California.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were all smiles as they sat in a box at the arena together and even appeared on the big screen in front of 20,000 basketball fans – including the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Adam Sandler.

Meghan looked stylish in a white vest with a pink shirt over the top, while Harry cut a casual figure in a white t-shirt and black jacket.

When the couple appeared on the big screen, thousands of fans began clapping as they encouraged them to share a public kiss.

Prince Harry appeared to lean in for a kiss but Meghan laughed and held her husband's arm, with the pair both then smiling and giggling.

Harry and Meghan's LA date night comes after they shared their plans for the King's Coronation, announcing Harry will be jetting to the UK for the ceremony while Meghan will remain in California with the couple's two children – Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.

Archie's fourth birthday falls on the same day that King Charles, 74, will be crowned in London, which is believed to have played a factor in Meghan's decision not to attend.

It was also claimed that the Duchess declined to attend the event because of an unsatisfactory reply to a letter from the monarch in 2021, but she has since issued a statement to deny these claims.

Omid Scobie, who is close to Meghan and Harry, shared the statement from Meghan's team on Twitter.

It read: "The Duchess of Sussex is going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago.

"Any suggestion otherwise is false and frankly ridiculous. We encourage tabloid media and various other royal correspondents to stop exhausting the circus that they alone are creating."

Harry's solo trip to the UK will be short-lived, with the Duke only attending his father's crowning on 6 May and no other celebrations across the three-day bank holiday weekend.

It is believed that Harry's London trip will be the first time he has seen the Royal Family since the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.
