Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's very public arrival to a fancy Hollywood club on the day it emerged that they had been evicted from their UK base Frogmore Cottage is far from coincidental, according to a source.
The move has been described as "bold" after the high-profile couple arrived in A-list style to San Vicente Bungalows in West Hollywood on the same day they received the news about Frogmore.
The couple decided made a big entrance to the front of the club, where photographers were waiting, instead of making a low-key arrival at the back.
Mum of two Meghan, 41, looked glamorous in a pair of leather-look leggings, a $1,610 Carolina Herrera cape coat, black $625 Christian Dior high heels, as well as a small black leather clutch bag from the same designer.
Harry, 38, sported a grey shacket over a dark top and jeans, with sneakers on his feet, and he and his wife both sported mega-watt smiles, looking like they didn't have a care in the world that they had lost their UK home.
The couple have lived in the US, with their children Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 21 months, since they sensationally announced their plans to step down as senior working members of the royal family in 2020.
A fellow club member, who was in attendance on the same evening as Harry and Meghan, said the timing of the trip was a "bold move".
“I think it was definitely a statement coming on the evening of the Frogmore news," they said.
The private members club, which is said to cost $4,200 per year to be part of, is located four hours away from their Montecito mansion.
The source added: "They've been trying to find time for more of these types of date nights, which isn't easy given their intense schedules as well as raising the kids.
"But this was something they freed themselves up for and the word is that it was important to send a message that they're not rattled or letting this Frogmore situation get to them."
After rumours swirled that the couple had been asked to leave Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of the Windsor estate, their spokesperson confirmed the news.
A statement from an Archewell spokeswoman said: “We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”
The couple were thought to have been keen to keep the property as a "UK base" for whenever they returned to the UK.
Tensions are high between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family after Harry's bombshell memoir, Spare, was published in January.
It contained a series of claims about the royal family, including Harry alleging that Prince William "attacked him" in 2019.
