New shocking details have come to light after Alana Thompson, better known as Honey Boo Boo, and her controversial older boyfriend Dralin Carswell were caught in a three-mile long car chase earlier this week!
If you didn’t catch the wild news, the reality star was a passenger in Dralin’s Dodge Charger on Tuesday in Monroe County, Georgia when a cop ran the vehicle’s plates and learned the owner, allegedly Carswell, had outstanding warrants. Instead of pulling over for a traffic stop, the 21-year-old sped off in a dangerous high speed pursuit that lasted three miles! The chase was only brought to an end when the cop pulled a PIT maneuver, a tactic in which a pursuing car rams into the back of a fleeing vehicle, forcing it to turn sideways and stop. It’s extremely dangerous — and Alana was there for the whole thing!
Dralin and the vehicle’s other passenger, 24-year-old Julian Malik Divon Williams, who also had outstanding warrants, were arrested. As for the Mama June: Road To Redemption star, she was taken to Monroe County Jail where she was picked up by her sister and legal guardian, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird. Remember, she’s still just 17 years old. Crazy stuff! And it gets more intense!
Now, we know a little bit more about why Dralin may have made the mad dash away from authorities — and the dangerous events that transpired in the unsuccessful getaway.
According to a police report obtained by The US Sun on Friday, Carswell “ran one car off the road” as he tried to flee at speeds of 75 miles per hour. The speed limit on the highway road he was traveling on was just 55, so this is considered a felony, per the report. The officer who made the arrests then explained what happened after colliding with the suspect’s car, writing:
“I exited my vehicle with my service pistol drawn and pointed my firearm at the driver’s door.”
They continued:
“The windows on the vehicle were very dark. I instructed the driver to roll down the window. I noticed that male driver and a female passenger in the front seat and a male passenger in the back seat on the driver’s side.”
This would be Dralin, Alana, and Julian, respectively. After running Dralin’s license, the police found that he was wanted in another county for a probation violation. And then they searched his vehicle where even more things turned up! Per the report, he had marijuana and an unregistered firearm in the car! The gun’s serial number “returned no record.” Oh man, that is not good…
Dralin was arrested for DUI, fleeing police, driving with a suspended license, following too closely, failing to maintain lanes, and speeding. Whew. His bond was set at $25,000, and it appears he has since been released. So far, Alana hasn’t commented on the legal issues.
As Perezcious readers may recall, this isn’t her beau’s first run-in with the law. He was arrested in 2019 for alleged statutory rape after his 15-year-old girlfriend’s mother caught them having sex when he was 18. The charges were dismissed after he successfully completed a pretrial diversion program in June 2021. We don’t know if the court’s going to be so easy on him this time, let alone how Honey Boo Boo’s family will react. People could have been seriously hurt in this car chase! Plus an illegal gun?? Thoughts?
