I’m A Celebrity’s Ant and Dec have suggested that viewers vote to take famous maître d’hôtel Fred Sirieix away from his cooking duties, in hopes that the campmates will grow hangry, sparking up tensions in the jungle.
Fred is a trained chef who has worked front-of-house at Michelin-starred restaurants, before beginning a TV career, including a role on BBC Two’s My Million Pound Menu, so it’s safe to assume he’s best qualified for cooking duties, especially now that Grace Dent has left the show.
However, Ant and Dec teased that if he’s recruited as Camp Leader, he’ll no longer be allowed to whip up mouthwatering meals for his starving fellow contestants.
Dec spoke out on the presenters’ Instagram Live, The Jungle Club, to share his views, saying: “Let’s talk about Camp Leader. Listen to me, there’s a part of me that wants Fred because then he can’t cook and the others would have to do it themselves.
“Fred is too good of a cook so there’s no angst about the food at the minute. Or is that cruel of me? If he’s Camp Leader, he can’t cook.”

Ant swiftly reassured his co-host: “No, that’s good, we’ll see a bit more chaos then. They always argue around the fire when they’re hungry!”
Fans have been clamouring on Twitter (X) for a more lively show, as viewing figures plummet, amid calls for more tension in camp.
One frustrated follower tweeted: “It’s so boring [this year], everybody’s having fun and there are no arguments!”
Sparks have flown on a few occasions, including a moment when YouTuber Nella Rose reprimanded Fred for saying he’s old enough to be her father.

She branded him disrespectful for the comparison, claiming that during their first ever conversation, she’d explained to him that her father had died back in 2020.
Although Fred apologised for upsetting her, Nella warned him to stay away, telling him she no longer even wanted to eat the food that he had prepared.
However, they have since seemed to reconcile, leaving the camp devoid of dramas.
Although Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson narrowly avoided being bitten by a venomous snake that slithered its way into camp over the weekend, “snakey” behaviour seems to be in short supply.
One Twitter (X) user branded the show “boring” and “predictable”, lamenting: “No wonder viewing figures are down. Used to love watching it and now I just switch it off.”
Another fan claimed it had become “boring” and “repetitive”.
However, a third saw the funny side of an interaction between This Morning’s Josie Gibson and Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn in camp.
“Josie asking Jamie Lynn: ‘Who got you into music?’ knowing damn well she doesn’t want to even mention Britney’s name!” the fan joked.
The I’m A Celebrity action continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
