I’m A Celeb: Gillian on taking contraband spicy knickers
Gillian McKeith’s latest Instagram footage revealed scenes of the nervous-looking I’m A Celeb South Africa star in the airport, followed by a photo of her secret stash.
Everything from packets of Miso Instant Soap to tiny plastic bags containing her favourite spices were shown on screen, followed by samples of her underwear.
The imagery, accompanied by the mischievous words “How would they know?” lifted the lid on something Gillian has already admitted – that she smuggled in her must-have items in her pants.
Her technique was to load spices into condoms and then hide them in pockets between pairs of knickers.
She also filled one of her push-up bras with them, and even – bizarrely – stashed garlic bulbs inside her shoes.

Naturally, the items are strictly forbidden for I’m A Celebrity campmates, who are bound to the rules about going back to basics.
However, with dishes such as wild rabbit and kudu on the menu – not to mention the gruesome “crocodile bum” and pigs’ anuses dished up during trials – it’s little wonder Gillian was keen to enjoy some home comforts for flavouring.
Nutritionist Gillian, who describes herself on her Instagram profile as “the poo lady” due to her healthcare role on Channel 4’s You Are What You Eat, smuggled turmeric, sage, cinnamon, miso paste and dill into camp.
Georgia Toffolo, also known as Toff, was the bearer of bad news earlier when she read out a note revealing that Ant and Dec knew exactly what was going on, and were prepared to dole out punishments for it.
“Celebrities, there is contraband in camp. You will not get your dinner until you have surrendered all the contraband,” the note warned.
It added: “There is an amnesty bowl in the telegraph.”
Gillian had no choice but to come clean after admitting she couldn’t resist.
The campmates were hysterically laughing when they discovered she’d used condoms to smuggle her stash, while Carol Vorderman joked about her “spicy knickers”, before quizzically enquiring: “Did you actually sit down in those?”
This isn’t the first time that the TV star has been caught red-handed, after being discovered with rock salt in her pants during a previous jungle stint in 2010.
This time round, Gillian followed the revelation by sensationally leaving camp alongside fan favourite Shaun Ryder, after both of them finished last in the tensest trial yet.
The I’m A Celebrity action continues at 9pm each evening on ITV.
