Rebekah Vardy lost her her libel claim against Coleen Rooney, in an announcement made on July 29.
In her ruling, Mrs Justice Steyn said it was “likely” that Mrs Vardy’s agent at the time, Caroline Watt, “undertook the direct act” of passing the information to The Sun.
But she added: “Nonetheless, the evidence … clearly shows, in my view, that Mrs Vardy knew of and condoned this behaviour, actively engaging in it by directing Ms Watt to the private Instagram account, sending her screenshots of Mrs Rooney’s posts, drawing attention to items of potential interest to the press, and answering additional queries raised by the press via Ms Watt."
The judge added: “In my judgment, the conclusions that I have reached as to the extent to which the claimant engaged in disclosing to The Sun information to which she only had access as a permitted follower of an Instagram account which she knew, and Mrs Rooney repeatedly asserted, was private, suffice to show the single meaning is substantially true.”
And while the court case may not have ended the way she would have liked, it has been revealed that the process has made her relationship with husband Jamie Vardy stronger.
Speaking during the trial, Rebekah's pal Nicola McLean revealed to OK! that the trial actually had a positive impact on their partnership.
She told us: "Jamie wishes the trial hadn’t got so far. But the case, if anything, has strengthened their marriage. They completely adore each other – they’re really rock solid as a couple."
During the course of their relationship, Rebekah, 40, and Jamie, 35, have welcomed three children: Sofia, eight, Finley, five, and four year old Olivia Grace.
Rebekah also has son Taylor from her previous marriage to footballer Luke Foster, and eldest daughter Megan – whose fathers' name has remained undisclosed.
She is also a step-mum to Jamie's daughter Ella, who was born in 2010.
The family live in an enormous 12-bedroom mansion close to Leicester, where Jamie is a striker for the city's Premier League football club. But how did it all begin Take a look back at their love story below…
The former Dancing on Ice star met her football husband Jamie in 2014.
She was working at Viper nightclub in Sheffield when she was asked to organise the up and coming sporting star's 27th birthday.
Rebekah was a single mum to two children at the time, while Jamie was dad to one daughter, Ella, whose mum is his ex Emma Dagget.
Jamie is the one who put in the work to 'graft' Rebekah, she says, and eventually agreed to have a drink with him.
Three months later, she was pregnant with their daughter Sophia and two years later they tied the knot in Peckforton Castle, Cheshire in 2016.
Alas, due to an alleged rift between Jamie's family members and Rebekah, some of his most important relatives didn't attend the wedding. Jamie’s then-five year old daughter also wasn’t there.
It later emerged that Jamie's parents and grandparents disapproved of his wife and in 2018 Rebekah opened up to The Sun about her troubled family life.
She said: "It is what it is. I don’t speak to certain people any more and neither does Jamie."
Then, in 2017 she gave birth to their second child Finley and the couple welcomed daughter Olivia Grace in 2019.
Rebekah was married twice before she met Jamie; however, she says that theirs is the only relationship that she’s ever felt truly stable in.
Speaking of her husband in an interview with Fabulous magazine, Becky said: "It took a while for me to trust [Jamie], and I think the relationship we have now is the only relationship I’ve ever felt stable in.
"I love and trust him. My husband ain’t like the rest of them. He’s so not.
"He’s so supportive of everything I do, everything I say and everything I stand for. He knows the battles I’ve endured and where I’ve come from to where I am now."
