James Jordan rages Strictly judges ‘pulled wool’ over viewers eyes with scores

Strictly: Nigel and Katya dance the Foxtrot to Etta James

James Jordan blasted Nigel Harman for failing to do the Foxtrot “correctly” on Strictly Come Dancing, and amid suggestions of “favouritism” towards him and Katya Jones, he warned that the viewers “aren’t stupid”.

While the panel awarded the pair 7s and 8s for their recent performance, which saw Nigel kick Katya, an incredulous James said he wouldn’t have scored them more highly than a 4.

Admitting that the scores “angered” him, he exclaimed: “It’s nonsensical… I would love to sit in front of the judges and say ‘Can you justify that to me?’

“You might think you can pull the wool over the public’s eyes, but you can’t – they’ve been watching it for 20 years.

“They know what’s right and what’s wrong. They’re not stupid!”

The 45-year-old has performed on Strictly as a pro numerous times, with his wife Ola, and in 2012 James reached the final alongside Denise Van Outen.

He’s now concerned that “what the judges say and what they score… are not always connected”, as he continued his rant on an episode of his Strictly: The Truth video series for Hello! magazine.

He suggested that he’d like to confront the foursome over the result, which took place after Nigel seemingly kicked Katya and messed up his footwork, but then mused that it would never be “allowed”.

James also claims he observed Nigel telling host Claudia Winkleman: “We should go wrong more often!”, alleging that “even she was laughing” at the score.

“Even [Nigel] thinks it’s a mockery. There’s no point them sitting there. Just get rid of the judges and let the public vote for who they want to, because [the judges] didn’t do their job!” he exclaimed.

He then concluded: “You come here for Strictly: The Truth and that is strictly the truth. I’m very angry!”

On the night, Casualty star Nigel acknowledged: “I kicked Katya and then made up the steps for a bit.”

“I didn’t even notice the mistake, he was leading me through the dance,” Katya claimed in reply.

Despite the seemingly obvious errors, the pair were awarded an overall score of 29 out of a possible 40, and avoided the dreaded bottom two.

Instead, that fate fell to Zara McDermott and Graziano di Prima, and comic Eddie Kadi and Karen Hauer, with former Love Islander Zara being the fortunate celebrity who avoided the chop.

James was scathing about her too, declaring that the only way she could avoid the axe was to return to an “easier” dance than she’d been attempting recently, such as the tango.

For James, the true “winners” are now ex-Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach and her pro partner Vito Coppola, and despite accusing Vito of “overpowering” Ellie the previous week, they’ve both gone up in his estimations now.
