Jason Manford reveals his nana has died just months before her 100th birthday as he shares heartwarming clip of her
Jason Manford shared a sweet video with his Nana Leah on Friday as he revealed she had died months before her 100th birthday.
In the clip, the comedian and his Nan, 99, who had dementia, were singing Nat King Cole together.
Music was an important way for the star to connect with her, as despite her illness, she was still able to remember the words and sing along.
He took to Twitter to post the video, writing: ‘Goodnight Nana Manford, we were so lucky to have you in our lives for so long. 99 years of wonderful moments & incredible memories.
‘Even when dementia took hold, she loved music. Whether making cardigans for kids or bullets for Lancaster bombers, she was an inspirational woman.’

His friends and fans commented on the post, sending their sympathies to him.
Comedienne Sally-Anne Hayward said: ‘Sorry for your loss Jason’ while Ed Byrne wrote: ‘Aw mate. That’s a beautiful tribute.’
Elsewhere, another person penned: ‘Sorry to hear this Jason. Thinking o you @Colin_Manford and all the family.’
And someone else said: ‘My heart goes out to you and your family at this time of your sad loss’ while a separate person added: ‘Sorry for your loss.’
It comes after Jason took to Instagram in March to share a ‘heartbreaking’ update after Leah was rushed into hospital in February.
The comedian posted photos of himself and his loved ones at the elderly lady’s bedside as he revealed she had sadly stopped eating.
An emotional Jason told his followers the family were trying their best to ‘stay strong’ despite the upsetting situation.
Writing: ‘Unfortunately she’s still in the hospital. Everyone is doing everything they can to get her home but she’s just stopped eating (even when given a box of her favourite chocolates for Mother’s Day!)’.
‘Not sure why, she says she wants to come home, knows that eating will help this, but for whatever reason, maybe her dementia, she just won’t eat.’

In February, Jason told MailOnline he believed his gran was ‘on the mend’ and should be home within days.
He explained: ‘She is doing much better. They get to a certain age, and they stop eating and drinking so we just had to get her in and on a drip but she’s feeling much better.
‘She’ll be back home in the next couple of days. It was a real turnaround, it didn’t look like it was going that way. She turns 100 in December and she’s desperate to get there so it was a bit worrying.
During the chat he also revealed he had ruled out having any more kids, saying he needs a ‘spreadsheet’ to organise his six children.
He opened up about family life, where he also admitted taking his young family on a long-haul flight solo is not as hard as people would imagine.
He explained the secret to managing children is having as many as possible, so they learn to look after each other, though he’s definitely reached his limit at six.
Jason said: ‘I took a flight and flew with all six of them by myself.
‘It was a bit mad, but people think it’s harder than it is. You get to a certain point where they look after themselves.

He continued: ‘My eldest are nearly 14, they’re twins, I have a 12, a 10, a seven and a four-year-old.
‘I think one child is harder because they need your attention the entire time.
‘I was alright, I read my book, I watched Bullet Train. You just need to have so many that they look after each other… that’s the aim.’
Jason admits being a father of six comes with its difficulties and ‘there’s a lot of social lives to keep track of,’ which is a big reason for the spreadsheet.
But he has no desire to add to his brood with TV producer wife Lucy Dyke, who is mother to his two youngest kids — the eldest four he shares with his first wife Catherine.
Jason added: ‘I wouldn’t have anymore, absolutely not. 100 per cent no.
‘Even now I’m with my sister, her partner and their baby and even after about five minutes of holding my nephew I’m like nope… I don’t miss this bit. I don’t pine for it at all.’
