Jeremy Clarkson and co-stars in ‘desperate situation’ as flights are cancelled

Jeremy Clarkson has taken to social media to poke fun at the “desperate situation” he was in with The Grand Tour co-stars James May and Richard Hammond after their flight was cancelled.

The presenter, who co-hosted the BBC series Top Gear with the same two pals for many years, gave fans an insight into the team’s disrupted travel plans.

Clarkson’s Farm star Jeremy was first to update his 7.1 million Instagram followers on the situation, posting a picture of his co-stars sitting across from him at a lavish-looking dinner table.

“BA have messed up our flight home so we are marooned here at a luxury camp in Botswana,” he explained.

“With only 40 staff. It’s all about survival now,” he added cheekily.

“Let’s all hope BA stop all flights and keep you out in your natural habitat,” his Amazon Prime co-star Kaleb Cooper then quipped back in the comments section.

Meanwhile, James took to Twitter to joke about the situation with his 3.2 million followers.

He wrote: “BREAKING Grand tour presenters MAROONED in Botswana wildlife paradise following cancellation of BA flight home. Updates to follow.”

In a follow-up tweet, he posted a picture of delicious-looking food platter with the caption: “LATEST Staff/guest ratio ‘as low as 40:1’ in hell-hole safari lodge where GT presenters have been abandoned by their crew. Cheese has arrived.” (sic)

“I wonder what Jeremy is up to lol,” one follower replied, prompting James to write back: “He’s sitting opposite me and drinking rosé rofl. The situation is desperate.”

British Airways also got back to James in the comments section, writing: “Hi James, we’re sorry your flight home has been disrupted.

“Please send us a DM with your booking details and we’ll help where we can. Gareth.”

“One of our PAs will get back to you,” James replied.

Many of James’ followers took to the comments section to comment on the hilarity of the situation, with one writing: “This should be fun.”

Another penned: “The Grand tour presenters are now the latest stars in Botswana’s wildlife reality show!

“Looks like they’re trading in fast cars for fast escapes from curious critters. Stay tuned for more jungle antics!”
