Josh Duggar Got NO Birthday Messages Or Visitors In Prison!

Josh Duggar did not have a happy birthday behind bars! Womp!

Just over a year after the disgraced reality star was found guilty of possessing child porn things have been complicated among the Duggar clan. But that’s not necessarily why no one made time to go see Josh for his 35 birthday…

According to what an insider told The US Sun on Friday, the 19 Kids And Counting star was throw into Federal Correction Institute Seagoville‘s Special Housing unit or SHU. You may know this as solitary confinement. Yep, Josh was caught with contraband and put into a cell all on his own — and he’s not able to contact his family.

The source dished the now 35-year-old was found with a cell phone on him, which is something he is definitely not supposed to have in federal prison generally — and especially because of the whole reason he’s there! He was caught with the phone back in February and remains in SHU on his birthday, which is Friday, March 3.

But there’s yet another barrier between Josh and his fam. Apparently the main reason he’s not in contact with his family is because the phones are down. According to the insider, the Duggars aren’t happy:

“Family members have been complaining that they’re unable to communicate with loved ones in the SHU. The video and phone systems in the SHU have been down in recent weeks. Loved ones have been writing letters to inmates in the SHU.”

Okay? So write him a letter if you need to talk to him that bad! It’s not ideal but there’s still a means of communication if for whatever reason you want to talk to a convicted pedo… We mean, it’s not like he has any urgent business outside prison walls, right? Just sayin’…

The Bureau of Federal Prisons says each inmate in SHU is allowed one phone call per month and visitation is either “restricted” or banned altogether depending on why the inmate is there. Just because Josh’s family didn’t stop by, though, doesn’t mean he didn’t get a birthday. The insider said:

“The prison doesn’t do anything special, but fellow inmates do try to get a cake and stuff for each other.”

Apparently the FCI’s solitary confinement unit is “so bad,” though, as the source claimed the officers aren’t following protocol:

“I can tell you that the SHU there is so bad that the regional office was just down there to see what was going on. They’ve been keeping prisoners in the SHU indefinitely, not letting them have DHO hearings, which let them know when they’re getting out.”

This situation is particularly hard on Josh’s wife Anna Duggar, who was previously rumored to be visiting all the time with their seven children. An insider whose family member is also in prison alongside Josh told the outlet at the time:

“We’ve seen Anna at visitation fairly regularly. I’ve spoken to Anna a couple of times. Normally the only thing I’ve seen is Anna and then their kids, I don’t really know anybody else.”

This news comes just weeks after it was reported the convicted reality star might be heading back to court for a retrial — if he gets his appeal, which innerestingly also has to do with a cell phone…
