This Morning’s Josie Gibson exclaims ‘my bra fell off’
Josie Gibson admitted she is “polite” to all members of the team on the daytime show, most notably runners, as the presenter said one day they could become your boss.
The 38-year-old spoke candidly about life behind the scenes at This Morning just weeks after former presenter Phillip Schofield was forced to deny claims the working environment at ITV is “toxic”.
Speaking in a new interview, Josie said she has always been courteous towards her colleagues as she shared the key to her success.
“Always be polite to everybody,” Josie told OK! magazine.
“Be even more polite to the people at the bottom, because the ones who are making your tea and coffee, one day they will be your editors and they will be your producers.”
Her comments come after Phillip Schofield hit back at critics, claiming there was “no toxicity” on the ITV show and suggested those complaining hold a “grudge”.
The presenter left ITV last month and was later dropped by his talent agency after he admitted to having an affair with a younger male colleague – which he described as “unwise, but not illegal” – while married.
Notable figures who have claimed the environment at ITV is “toxic” include Dr Ranj, a former This Morning resident doctor, who raised concerns about bullying and discrimination two years ago.
Phil has since said there is “no toxicity” at This Morning and “it’s the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice”.
Josie has since bagged a coveted presenting role on This Morning as the Bristol-born broadcaster has enjoyed a steady rise to fame since bursting onto our TV screens on Big Brother in 2010.
She was also there to support Holly Willoughby as the ITV regular returned to the programme after a short break, following weeks of controversy and the departure of former co-host Phillip.
The TV star told the same publication: “I cannot believe I work on This Morning. I actually cannot get over it.
“If someone had told me I’d present one of the biggest daytime TV shows I would have laughed in their face. I feel so grateful and honoured.”
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX at 10am.
