OK!'s much-loved columnist, comedian Judi Love has given her verdict on who she believes could already be set to bag the £50,000 cash prize at this year's Love Island finale – but who?
Writing in her column, Judi also reminisces on the importance of the BET awards, telling OK!: "As a teenager, they were my go-to to see Black excellence being commemorated because there wasn’t anything like that in the UK." She also lets readers in on Stormzy may have inspired her to give up social media and why the Roe vs Wade reversal on abortion laws has made her even more concerned for the future of women's rights. Team Dami and Indiyah!
This year’s Love Island is giving me all the drama and I’m living for it! Despite being involved in some messy antics on the show, Ekin-Su somehow keeps us entertained and on her side. She’s also one of the only contestants in the villa being honest about why she’s in there – to find love. While the other girls are claiming their head couldn’t possibly be turned, she’s ready for it, and that’s what it’s about.
I’m predicting that everyone – possibly apart from Andrew and Luca – will have their heads turned at some point.
Even though it’s very early days, and as we know, we can’t predict anything in the villa, I’d like to see Dami and Indiyah crowned this year’s winners. They’re the only ones that both seem genuinely into each other.
Fingers crossed Casa Amour won’t tear them apart!
Pure nostaglia
Last week marked one of my favourite events of the year – the BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards. This annual ceremony hosted in the US celebrates the achievements of Black individuals in the areas of music, entertainment and sport.
As a teenager, the BETs were my go-to to see Black excellence being commemorated because there wasn’t anything like that in the UK. The BETs meant I could watch performances from all of my favourite hip-hop artists like Puff Daddy and Mary J. Blige.
It’s pure nostalgia for me and I’ve caught up with the awards every year since. I’d love the opportunity to attend next year. Watch this space…
Stormzy undercover
From all the amazing stories that are coming from festivals this summer, one of my favourites is about Stormzy going incognito at Glastonbury! The rap superstar managed to successfully disguise himself with a mask and bucket hat as he partied the day away.
I also came across a clip of Stormzy this week explaining his reasoning for stepping back from social media. After performing a gig some months ago, he instinctively wanted to post about it online, but this led him to ask himself, “Do I need this validity?”
Stormzy is now living his best life, while also keeping himself to himself. I think we could all take a leaf out of Stormzy’s book!

Devastating news
I’ve been left completely shocked after it was announced that millions of women in the US are set to lose their legal rights to an abortion following the Roe vs Wade reversal.
It’s heartbreaking to hear that in 2022, what women are allowed to do with their bodies is once again being decided by a group of men. Whether you agree with abortion or not, it’s about choice.
They talk about wanting to protect the children, but what about the children that are already alive? They’ve already failed to protect the lives of hundreds of children involved in school shootings by failing to change the law on guns.
If lawmakers can decide what a woman does with her own body, what can’t they do? What’s next? That’s my biggest concern.
