MY BIRTHDAY BASH
I spent my big birthday weekend surrounded by loved ones. I was taken to The Shard by my children for a gorgeous dinner, where I was presented with an array of lovely gifts.
I was completely spoilt! I also became quite emotional after my kids gave me a chain all wrapped up.
Inside the gift, there was a message which thanked me for wiping their tears, changing their nappies and being there for them all these years. It was just such a beautiful moment.
FUNNY BUSINESS
I want to send a huge congratulations to Axel Blake for winning the latest series of Britain’s Got Talent with his incredible comedy performance.
I have followed his work through the urban circuit for quite some time now and I know that there are big things ahead for him.
Seeing young Black comedians – including the likes of Kojo Anim and Nabil Abdulrashid who appeared on the show in previous years – being recognised and praised for their iconic comedic talents fills me with so much pride.
What a platform to show off what each of the comedians are made of.
COMEDY OF ERRORS
I feel like we’re watching an episode of Spitting Image – the government is just one big comedy show.
I wasn’t even surprised that Boris managed to win the vote to be honest. It seems now that he’s got away with “party-gate” he’s completely untouchable.
Who on Earth has any confidence left in that man? I’m baffled.
DOUBLE DATING STANDARDS
Last week, it was confirmed that Black Panther star Michael B Jordan had split from girlfriend Lori Harvey, who also happens to be the step-daughter of US TV host Steve Harvey.
Since the announcement, I’ve noticed that Lori has been receiving a lot of slack online for her dating history.
Yes, she’s dated numerous men in the spotlight, including Akon’s brother Abou “Bu” Thiam, rapper Future, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ son Justin Combs (and then Diddy himself!), singer Trey Songz, racing champion Lewis Hamilton and football player Memphis Depay.

But as a beautiful young woman, she has every right to date who she wants.
If a man had dated such a long string of famous women, would he be sparking the same controversial reaction online? Nope! Double standards.
That being said, I hope the pair are able to move on from this relationship.
And Michael, call me!
CRACKING ON
It’s too early to predict what the Love Island producers have in store for us this year, but by the looks of things so far, we’re in for one hell of a ride!
Gemma is already standing out to me as a strong character, and as for Italian stallion Davide – wow! He has brought chaos to the villa already and I’m living for it.
I’m also a big fan of Tasha, the first deaf contestant to have ever appeared on the show. She’s not afraid to get stuck in and show off her fiery personality.
This is going to be one dramatic summer…
