Justin Timberlake has reportedly not yet reached out to Britney Spears about her new book, despite being ‘not at all happy about it.’
The Toxic singer accused Justin of being unfaithful during their high-profile relationship between 1999 and 2002. Britney also claims she conceived their baby but got an abortion she regrets because he ‘wasn’t ready to start a family.’
A source close to the star claimed that although the NSYNC singer has chosen not to say anything to Britney, he is still ‘not okay’ with what she has said.
Another insider also claims that the allegations have overshadowed Justin and wife Jessica Biel's recent wedding anniversary celebration.
A source told the Daily Mail: “He has not reached out to Britney at all about any of this, and he is not going to because there is nothing he can say to her.”
They added: “That does not mean he is okay with it. Justin is not at all happy about what has come out in this book.”
OK! contacted Justin and Britney for comment.
They also claimed that Britney doesn’t care ‘who is offended’ by her autobiography, The Woman in Me, as she is just saying ‘what happened.’ A second source told the publication how the ‘baggage’ from the memoir has been ‘stressful’ for Justin and his actress wife Jessica.
The pair got together a decade after his split from Britney and have been married since 2012 and share sons Silas, eight and Phineas, three.
The source talked about how the bombshell revelations couldn’t have been worse timing for the couple, who celebrate their anniversary on 19 October.
They said: “To have to think of all of that during a time when they should celebrate their love for each other hasn't been the most satisfying of days lately, it has been a bit stressful.”
The insider added that Justin is now trying to focus on NSYNC's new music and his upcoming film to distract him from the book.
Justin and Britney had a high-profile split after she reportedly cheated on him, leading him to release his 2002 hit Cry Me a River in which he hit out at the singer by using a Britney lookalike.
Writing about that time in her life, Britney described how the music video was clearly 'about a woman who looks like me cheats on him, and he wanders around sad in the rain.'
She said that the negative media attention she got turned her into a ‘harlot’ with people thinking she was ‘happily running around Hollywood,' when in reality, she was comatose in Louisiana.
The Hit Me Baby One More Time singer admits that while she did cheat by kissing her choreographer Wade Robson in a bar, Justin was also unfaithful on multiple occasions, including with a high-profile celebrity that she chose not to name.
