Prince William andKate Middleton will be “on board” withKing Charles’ decision to evict Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage, a royal expert claimed.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, speaking exclusively toOK!, said the Prince and Princess of Wales would ‘absolutely support’ the eviction as they 'probably do not want the Sussexes as neighbours'.
This week it emerged the King has askedPrince Harry, 38, andMeghan Markle, 41,to vacate Frogmore Cottage – the home they were gifted by the lateQueenafter they tied the knot in 2018.
It was reported that the home willinstead be offered to Prince Andrew, 63, after it was revealed the disgracedDuke of York isset to be moved from Royal Lodge in Windsor Park, where he has lived since 2003 alongside ex-wifeSarah Ferguson.
According to reports, the King wants theDuke and Duchess of Sussex out of Frogmore Cottage before his Coronation in May.
When asked about the reaction of Prince William, 40, and Princess Kate, 41, to the eviction, Ms Bond replied: “They will be absolutely supportive of Charles’ decision. They probably don’t want Harry and Meghan as their near neighbours.
“I think they’d probably have Andrew. They’ll be completely on board with this and support Charles.
"Charles has probably spoken to William about this, but I think they talk about these things a lot.”
OK! has contacted representatives for the Prince and Princess of Wales for comment.
Harry and Meghan’s eviction was confirmed by their spokeswoman on Wednesday.
In a statement, she said: “We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”
The shakeup of royal households is said to have left Meghan and Harry "stunned" whileAndrew is reportedly also against the move, preferring to stay in the Royal Lodge.
It comes amid the continuing fallout from Prince Harry’s bookSpare and with Prince Andrew banned from royal duties over his connections to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Harry’s tell-all memoir brought anew round of attacks on the Royal Family – two years on from hiscontroversial interview with Oprah Winfrey, and weeks after hisNetflix documentary series levelled a fresh round of damning claims against the monarchy.
But despite the continued controversy,Harry is said to have "no regrets" about publishing his memoir.
Prince Andrew, meanwhile, stepped down from public life in 2019 amid the fallout from hisBBC interview over his connections to Wall Street financier Epstein.
The Queen also stripped the Duke of York of his military affiliations and patronages in the wake of sexual assault allegations made against him by Virginia Giuffre.
Ms Giuffre, now 39, claimed she was forced into sex at 17 with the Duke by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, the media heiress who is serving20 years behind bars for sex-trafficking girls for the late financier.
Andrew denied the allegations against him and latercame to an out of court settlement, reportedly worth £12 million, with Ms Giuffre. The settlement is not an admission of guilt.
Recently it was reported that Andrew isgearing up to launch a £10million legal case in a bid to overturn the settlement with Ms Giuffre.
