The Prince and Princess of Wales delighted the crowds the day after Prince George was born in July 2013 when they presented him to the world's media outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, West London.
The couple spoke candidly about their new arrival – with Prince William saying that his son had a "good set of lungs" and joking that George already had more hair than him.
In preparation for the birth of their first child, the couple were understood to have had a number of lessons from experts, one of whom was the late obstetric physiotherapist, Christine Hill, who passed away last year.
It was understood that the antenatal teacher gave the royal couple private lessons ahead of the birth in the conservatory at her West London home.
It was revealed that Kate attended a number of these special lessons given by the expert in her West London conservatory, while Prince William was present for one of them.
The late expert previously spoke to The Telegraph about the Prince and Princess of Wales. She said: "Kate is a delightful girl, what you see is what you get."
She went on to praise the couple, saying that they are: "a very strong team." While the couple had no end of help from experts such as Mrs Hill, the pair also had their own families to rely on.
After spending a short period of time at Kensington Palace, Prince George was taken to spend his first few days with his parents at Carole and Michael Middleton's home in Berkshire. It was reported at the time that Prince William and Kate were determined to do everything themselves but soon found it a challenge.
Royal sources close to the couple revealed that Prince George was getting up more than six times every night and new-dad Prince William found this particularly taxing as he worked to balance parenthood with his royal duties.
However, it would appear that William soon found a special tactic that worked to relax Prince George and send him off to sleep. Speaking of William's first days of fatherhood, a royal insider said: "William had no idea it would be this tough.
"He's using a bizarre tactic of belting out Coldplay anthems at all hours of the night even though he can barely hold a note. It's even keeping Kate's parents awake.
"His favourite song is 'Paradise' and he also loves doing 'Yellow'. Coldplay aren't even his favourite band, but George responds to their songs the most and settles back down."
