King Charles III is remembering Queen Elizabeth II on the first Mother’s Day in the UK since her death.
The 74-year-old monarch took to the royal family’s official Instagram account on Sunday to pay tribute to the late queen — who died in September at the age of 96 — on the holiday. Alongside a sweet throwback picture of King Charles as a toddler standing on Queen Elizabeth’s lap, he wrote:
“To all mothers everywhere, and to those who may be missing their mums today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special #MothersDay.”
The post also included a snapshot of Queen Camilla standing and smiling with her mother, Rosalind Shand, who passed away in 1994. You can take a look at the touching tribute (below):

Prince William and Princess Catherine AKA Kate Middleton also marked the holiday by sharing some family photos on Insta — including one that shows the Princess of Wales and her three kids — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — sitting in a tree. Another image features Princess Catherine holding her 4-year-old son in her arms. You can ch-ch-check it out (below):
