Kit Connor shows off a hint of a smile while attending the 2023 BFI Future Film Festival Awards at BFI Southbank on Sunday (February 19) in London.
The 18-year-old Heartstopper star served on the festival jury this year and helped pick the winners for the awards ceremony.
Kit was joined by festival chairman Peter Kosminsky and fellow jury members writer/director Matthew Jacobs Morgan and critic/author Hanna Flint.
“We were blown away by the exceptional talent on display while reviewing this wonderful selection of films, which are testament to the clever, nuanced storytelling skills possessed by this next generation of filmmakers. These young directors have all shown they have an authentic viewpoint, producing a real mix of funny, emotional, intimate and thought-provoking work with a clear vision,” the jury shared in a collective statement.
The BFI Future Film Festival takes place across four days, with workshops, screenings, and more for emerging young filmmakers to help them break into the film and screen industries. The awards ceremony honored young filmmakers aged 16-25 with prize money and mentoring opportunities.
