Strictly: Krishnan saying he’s a ‘wreck’ on It Takes Two
Krishnan Guru-Murthy has revealed his wife is “supportive” of his Strictly Come Dancing experience, but has also acknowledged it’s “hard” having to spend more time away from her.
After receiving 30 points for his Quickstep to ‘The Lady Is A Tramp’ by Frank Sinatra on Saturday, the 53-year-old has made it through to week six of the live shows.
This week, Krishnan is expected to be diving headfirst into practising new Halloween-themed choreography with Strictly pro Lauren Oakley.
However, in a new interview, the newsreader has admitted that he is currently struggling with missing his wife, Lisa.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Krishnan said: “She did look at me the other day and go, ‘Oh, look at you without a belly!’, which I’ll take as a compliment.

“She’s been really supportive and she’s coming again to watch me. You spend so little time with each other when you’re doing Strictly, it’s really hard. That’s the hardest bit. You just don’t see your family.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the journalist discussed how strenuous training with Lauren every day can become.
“Each week you’re using different muscles,” he began. “So week one, my hips were sore; week two, my knees were sore, because it was the foxtrot so you’re bending your knees all the time.
“This week, it’s the backs of my knees, because there’s a lot going on there.”

The newsreader went on to admit that he wants to be a fixture on the show for “as long as possible” and doesn’t want the feeling of performing in front of a live audience to end.
“I don’t want to say, ‘Oh, I just want to make it to Blackpool’. I want to get to the final,” he added.
On Saturday, Krishnan first received a modest six from Craig Revel Horwood for his Quickstep.
However, Motsi Mabuse, Anton du Beke and Head Judge Shirley Ballas believed the dance deserved higher. Each awarded Krishnan and Lauren an eight for their routine, and the broadcaster later thanked the judges for their criticisms.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the newsreader said: “Thanks to everyone who supported us this week with the Quickstep – we are through to dance another week.
“And it’s a great song. Looking forward to fixing the stuff the judges criticised and building on what the audience loved. Another happy week ahead with @laurenmayoakley as the #strictly bandwagon rolls on to Week 6 and spooky Halloween.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One this Saturday at 6.40pm.
