Liam Neeson wasn’t very happy with his recent appearance on The View!
It’s no secret that co-host Joy Behar has a crush on the Taken star — she’s made it very clear for a long time! But bringing that crush right to Liam’s front door wasn’t the best idea in his opinion, as he said the whole situation made him “uncomfortable.”
During his recent appearance on the show, the Irish actor was seen sitting in the middle of the iconic half-circle table when co-host Ana Navarro teased Joy over how they discuss Liam a lot on the show:
“You talk about him so much.”
To which the comedian responded with:
“Oh, shut up, don’t blow my cover up.”
Later on, she even joked about receiving a belated Valentine’s Day card from her celeb crush, but then found out he’d sent everyone a card. Sunny Hostin quipped that Joy’s card was generic compared to hers:
“He wrote something very special on mine.”
The show then cut to a presentation featuring a compilation of Joy’s different moments mentioning Liam on the show — in particular ones about how the Taken movies “aroused” her! Yikes…
After the video, the 80-year-old fussed about producer Brian Teta “embarrassing” her, but Liam cut the tension with a joke:
“You received the checks, right?”
Damn!!
Well, he’s not wrong! She WAS getting paid to talk about those things, we guess.
During the second block of the show, Joy continued her jokes by reciting Liam’s famous “I will find you and I will kill you” line — but he came back at her by snapping:
“Oh Joy, stop it. Get a life!”
Yeah, see… this “funny” interaction wasn’t so funny to him! According to the 70-year-old’s interview with Rolling Stone this week, the whole appearance made him feel cornered. He thought they were going to be talking about something very different:
“I was in the dressing room drinking a cup of tea, turned the TV up, and I thought, oh, this will be great. They’re talking about gun violence in America, and I agree that it’s an American problem. I go onstage and join the ladies during the break, and I was congratulating them on this discussion.”
He thought he was being brought on to discuss views — not flirty glances! He said he was surprised when the “crush” segment started up after the break:
“And then our segment starts and it’s just all this BS with Joy and Liam Neeson and having a crush, and I’ve known Whoopi for years and Joy a little bit, but I just wasn’t impressed. I’m uncomfortable in those situations, you know?”
The Memory star did say he had an “intelligent conversation” with Sunny after the show — but he also went on to call Joy’s crush on him embarrassing:
“But then the segment’s all about this — oof —thirteen, fourteen-year-old crush. It’s just a bit embarrassing.”
Oof oof oof.
We’re guessing the crush isn’t reciprocated. You can see the full interview (below):
