Still recovering after spending a week in the hospital due to severe dehydration and exhaustion, the ‘Backdoor’ rapper takes to social media to thank fans for their love and support.
AceShowbiz –Lil Durk continues to share positive updates on his recovery following a recent health scare. While he’s still not cleared to perform, the rapper has shared a new photo via his social media page to show his appreciation for his fans’ support.
In the since-deleted photo, Durkio sported an off-white T-shirt paired with white distressed jeans and a cap which he put on backward. His giant yellow shoes stood out in the picture as he accessorized with a huge chain and a golden watch.
It’s not clear when the photo was taken, but the 30-year-old looked fit as he flashed a smile in the image. “The love they show is outstanding,” he captioned it.
Over on his Instagram Story, the Chicago native went on letting his followers know the progress he made in his recovery. “I’m almost healed I appreciate the energy being on 1000,” he posted on Tuesday, July 25.
Durk, whose real name is Durk Derrick Banks, revealed earlier this month that he had checked into the hospital on Thursday, July 6 after falling ill in Ohio. The Chicago rapper went to the hospital as a safety measure, but doctors told him the matter was more serious than he and his team realized, and that he needed to be admitted.
After spending a week in the hospital, he was discharged, but still not allowed to be back on stage. “I was looking forward to touching all of my European fans, performing this week(end), attending the ESPYs and more but after performing and traveling daily I’ve become severely dehydrated and advised by my doctors not to travel due to exhaustion,” he said in a statement to TMZ, before promising, “Once I get my full energy back, it’s back to business which I’m looking forward to. #StillHealing.”
The Voice has since been forced to cancel several festival appearances and various tour dates, including his headlining gig at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami. “Since I’m still awaiting to get full clearance from my doctors to travel and perform again, I have no other choice but to cancel my headlining Rolling Loud performance,” he said in a statement to DJ Akademiks on July 18.
He continued, “While I’m home resting, I am looking forward to my two homecoming shows on the 11th & 12th in Chicago. For the rest of the country, I’ll be announcing new dates soon. #StillHealing.”
He has also canceled multiple dates with Kodak Black, NLE Choppa and DD Osama for his upcoming “Sorry for the Drought Tour” and rescheduled other shows.
