Lily Allen has revealed that she has been diagnosed with adult ADHD and has to "completely switch off social media".
The 37 year old Smile singer lives in the US with her husband Stranger Things actor David Harbour, who she married in 2020.
Following her move to America, Lily revealed that she went to go and "see someone", who diagnosed her with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD).
According to the NHS, ADHD is "a condition that affects people's behaviour. People with ADHD can seem restless, may have trouble concentrating and may act on impulse."
Speaking to The Times, Lily said: "I’ve actually just been diagnosed with adult ADHD. I’ve had to completely switch off social media because as soon as I look at it, it can be hours of my day gone."
She added: "It sort of runs in my family. And it’s only because I’m here in America where they take these things slightly more seriously than they do in England. I went to see someone and they said, 'Have you ever thought about this?' And I said, 'Well, yes I have.'"
Elsewhere during the interview, Lily spoke about life in America, admitting: "I live quite a separate life from everybody now that I’m over here in America. I’m a bit of a loner, a bit of an isolationist."
Lily enjoyed a successful singing career in the early 2000s, with hits such as Smile and Not Fair, but these days, she's pursuing a career in acting.
She made her theatre debut in 2021 as she took part in 2:22 A Ghost Story and is now set to make her TV debut in comedy drama Dreamland.
The star recently made an appearance on This Morning where she discussed her new role and spoke about her life now that she has been sober for four years.
She said on the show: "It is weird. My life has changed so much.
"I'm four years clean and sober, I have a new husband, and we're sorting our lives out in America."
Lily is mum to two daughters, Ethel, 11, and Marnie, 10, who she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper.
