Not one to sport a dramatic hair look (Dua Lipa, I’m looking at you), Lily James often kept it quite tame with a natural textured ‘do in the past – but now, she’s a bit more adventurous. The actor got a big bob chop back in 2019 and she also went from blonde to brunette quite unexpectedly back in April.
Now, adding to her seemingly growing roster of unanticipated hair looks is yet another out-of-the-box style. But this time, it was so out-of-the-box that we had to do a double, triple, quadruple (you get the gist of it) take. I mean, she really does look *completely* unrecognisable.

As we can see, Lily now has a long jet-black hair colour complete with an eyebrow-grazing micro-fringe. And speaking of the brows, she’s only gone and had them bleached, too! This, makes the look ten times (if not more) dramatic, IMO. Wouldn’t you agree?

Finishing off the gothic ensemble, Lily is wearing a deep mauve lipstick that almost looks black. Props go out to the whole glam squad, specifically the hair and makeup team who have done an incredible job.

As we can see from the above IG posts by Donatella Versace, this look has come about from an on-set shoot with her fashion brand. This, unfortunately, means that the hairstyle is probably a passing phase and not one to stick around as when photographing campaign images, wigs are more than likely used. It’s the fear of commitment, you see.
Although, Lily’s brow looks like they’ve actually been dyed, so, I guess one can hold out for at least a mini real-life transformation, right? It may not be the full head of hair but it is a type of hair transformation, none the less.
