Lizzo claps back at Kanye West after comments about her weight

Lizzo is pretty much fed up with everyone talking about her body.

The About Damn Time singer appeared to fire back at Kanye West – and other critics – during her latest tour show just days after the rapper made comments about her weight.

In his recent interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, Kanye, 45, said the media’s apparent promotion of obesity was ‘demonic’ and believed that it was part of a plan for ‘genocide of the Black race’.

During her show in Toronto, Canada on Friday, Lizzo took a moment to address all those who have been speaking about her on public forums of late.

The 34-year-old singer – who is famously unapologetic about owning body empowerment – told her audience: ‘I feel like everybody in America got my mother****ing name in their mother****ing mouth for no mother****ing reason.

‘I’m minding my fat Black beautiful business.’

She then asked: ‘Can I stay here? Who can I marry for that dual citizenship.’

Speaking to Carlson last week, Kanye said: ‘When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots … on Instagram, they attack her losing weight, because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it’s actually unhealthy.

‘It’s demonic.’

Kanye isn’t the only celebrity who has had things to say about Lizzo in recent weeks.

Comedian Aries Spears faced the wrath of her fans when he made body-shaming comments about her weight.

‘I can’t get past the fact that she looks like the s**t emoji. She’s got a very pretty face, but she keeps showing her body off. Like, come on, you,’ he said in an interview with The Art of Dialogue in August.

Lizzo responded while on-stage at the MTV VMAs that month and said: ‘And now, for b*****s that got something to say about me in the press.

‘You know what? I’m not going to say nothing. They be like, “Lizzo why don’t you clap back? Why don’t you clap back?” ‘Cause, b***h, I’m winning, hoe! Big b***h is winning, ho! Best revenge is your paper, b***h.’

The Juice singer also faced backlash when she played a 200-year-old crystal flute belonging to the fourth US President and founding father James Madison.

As for Kanye, he has continued to catch heat for wearing a White Lives Matter shirt at his Yeezy fashion show last week, but has doubled down on his stance against the Black Lives Matter movement, which he has dubbed a ‘scam’.

He’s since had his posts on Instagram restricted and his Twitter account locked for allegedly making anti-semitic comments.
