Love Island’s Chloe Burrows emotional as she admits being ‘heartbroken’ over Toby split

Former Love Island star Chloe Burrows broke down as she admitted to being "heartbroken" when her ex-boyfriend Toby Aromolaran, who she met on the show, ended things with her.

Chloe, 27, is currently starring on E4's Celebs Go Dating, and during a chat at the dating agency on Tuesday night's show, she got emotional as she discussed the split.

She explained: "He [Toby] was probably the nicest boy I'd ever been with.

"But the connections you form [in the Love Island villa], you can't replicate it in real life.

"When he said, 'this isn't working', I was really heartbroken for months…"

Chloe then burst into tears, as she sobbed: "I don't want to get upset…"

The dating experts encouraged her to open up more, and as she did, she said: "I was heartbroken. Things fell apart a bit and we both knew.

"I'm not going to beg for someone to stay with me."

She didn't rule out the possibility of rekindling a romance with Toby in the future, as she mused: "I don't know. We're probably very different people now. I don't know, to be honest."

Chloe and Toby met on Love Island in 2021, and their romance lasted almost a year outside of the villa before they called it quits.

Their split came to light in October 2022, with a source telling MailOnline: "Chloe and Toby put everything into their relationship – but it just hasn't worked out between them.

"There's been no wrongdoing, they have simply grown apart, and over time realised it's better for them both to split.

"Naturally, Chloe has found the breakup difficult but being able to spend time abroad with Millie [Court] has given her the space she needed to start moving on."

After joining the 2023 cast of Celebs Go Dating alongside Lottie Moss, Adam Collard and Vanessa Feltz, Chloe opened up about the perils of dating someone in the public eye.

She said: "I wouldn’t want someone who is so public and shares a lot of their life.

“If it doesn’t work out, you have to go through a public break-up, which is literally the worst thing I have been through. I wouldn’t do that again. If I didn’t post anything about the two of us for like three days, I was hounded."

She explained further: "I felt pressure to keep everyone updated. If I hadn’t had that pressure it would have been a lot more smooth sailing I reckon.”

Chloe has turned to former Love Island star Olivia Attwood, who appeared on series five of the show in 2018.

“I know a lot of people who have done it and they say it’s good,” she said. “I know Olivia Attwood. I’ve done my research. I think it will be really fun.”
