Love Island winnersDavide Sanclimenti andEkin-Su Cülcüloğlu have hit back following claims that one couple from this year’s show are faking their relationship.
Earlier on this week, fellow 2022 Love Island contestantPaige Thorne sent fans wild after revealing thatshe believed only two of the three remaining pairings were genuine.
During an appearance on the Saving Grace podcast, the 24 year old was asked by TikToker GK Barry: “Who are the fakest couple to come out of Love Island?”
In response, Paige said: “All I'm going to say on this right is there are how many couples left? Three. Three couples left – really there are only two. But that's a secret I'll never tell!,” hinting that she didn’t have faith in one couple.
And now the winners of Love Island appear to have responded to their co-star’s comments after Davide shared a cryptic clip to his Instagram Stories for his two million followers to see.
While in the back of a taxi alongside Ekin-Su, 28, Davide, 27, filmed himself saying: “And remember, rumours are carried by haters, spread by fools and accepted by idiots. Kind regards.”
Meanwhile Ekin-Su can be seen laughing as her beau recites the quote.
Following Paige’s claims, fans of the show have begun speculating who the paramedic was referring to and have taken to social media to share their own theories.
“Weirdly enough I’m actually quite confident in it not being tasha and andrew, they seem solid even after all the mess,” wrote one.
“I think Dami & Indiyah & Tasha & Andrew are the two still together,” said a second user.
“I think she probably forgot there are 4 couples I don’t think there are 2 fake ones only 1 fake couple,” another added in reference to Ekin-Su and Davide,Tasha Ghouri andAndrew Le Page,Gemma Owen andLuca Bish, andIndiyah Polack andDami Hope all making the Love Island final.
Meanwhile, during an exclusive interview with OK!,Ekin-Su opened up about her “intense” romance with boyfriend Davide and how the pair had been going from strength to strength post-Love Island..
“It feels like our relationship changed. It was almost like in the villa we liked each other but now it feels like we’re boyfriend and girlfriend. We really feel for each other,” she said.
“When you really love someone you get jealous. And whereas before it wasn’t that intense, now it’s like, 'Oh my God, we really care about each other!”
And when asked if they’d like to get married, Ekin-Su said: "We would, of course we would, but not now. Maybe in two years, three years, you know? Or who knows? I don’t know, whenever the relationship and my life seems like it’s on the right [path].”
