Former Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has posted the infamous “cursed” yellow Love Island bean bag to her Instagram Stories, following her split from Davide Sanclimenti.
During last year’s series, the yellow bean bag sparked fear among the contestants as they speculated that it was bringing them drama after they sat on it. Explaining the theory in the Beach Hut, fellow contestant Tasha Ghouri said: "That yellow bean bag, there is a very proven fact that it does bring drama every time someone sits on it… it happens.
"So obviously if you want to go sit on it, I wish you well, but you've basically brought it on yourself because the drama happens. So… it's obviously a proven fact."
It seems the "curse" has since followed the contestants off-screen as the duo, who won the summer series of Love Island last year, announced they had decided to part ways on 29 June after 11 months together.
Taking to her Stories, Ekin-Su posted a video of the yellow bean bag on the balcony of the London home she formerly shared with Davide, with the caption: "lol taking this bean bag everywhere don't care", followed by a laughing emoji.
In the clip she can be heard saying: "I know it's bad luck but this bean bag has been very iconic in my life and I'm not gonna get rid of it just because of bad luck.”
She then added: “You are coming with me wherever I go.”
The Turkish actress recently broke her silence regarding the break-up, sharing the statement: “Hi everyone, I thought it was time to come back online to thank you so much for all of your messages over the past two weeks.
"It has shown me what a kind, supportive, strong community I have behind me. I took some much needed time away with my family which has been really special but now it's time to realign and get back to work."
Going on to say she has "such an exciting year ahead," Ekin-Su is determined to focus on the various opportunities coming her way, and put her love life to one side for now.
"I really appreciate your ongoing support. Thank you for cheering me on. Ekin x," the star added. It was later claimed that Davide decided to end their relationship because he reportedly felt that he was living in her "shadow".
However, the pair risked an awkward run-in just two weeks after announcing their split as they both headed to the Barbie premiere in London last night (13 July).
Appearing to brush off their heartache, both stars glammed up and posed for pictures at the premiere for the highly-anticipated new release – brushing shoulders with a number of A-list celebs as well as plenty of fellow Islanders.
