Gemma Owen has reportedly been headhunted to star in a new TV show about the daughters of famous footballers.
After finding fame on the hit show Love Island, where she met boyfriend Luca Bish, 23, and signing a a lucrative deal with fashion brand PrettyLittleThing, Gemma is set to boost her career even more with a new show.
Reportedly being developed by Lime Productions, the same makers of TOWIE and Celebs Go Dating, Gemma will star alongside the likes of Paul Gascoigne’s daughter Bianca, according to The Sun.
“This new series is being billed as a one-of-a-kind show which will reveal what it is really like to be the daughter of a famous football star," an insider told the publication.
They continued: “Lime are developing the concept now and ITV have shown a real interest in it. Gemma is top of their casting wish list."
Referencing Gemma's famous footballer dad Michael Owen, they went on: "Her dad Michael is one of England’s most famous footballing stars and given her huge popularity since she appeared on Love Island – she is the person they want signed up."
Describing the show, they continued: “It will see them following their dreams away from the football pitch and will show the barriers they face when trying to make a name for themselves.
“Anyone who thinks being a footballer’s daughter is an easy ride is in for a shock.”
Gemma's potential return to TV comes after she teased fans with a "big reveal", which turned into an anti-climax.
After leaving her 2.1million followers hanging on for the news, she admitted it was about the results of a poll on what she and Luca should have for dinner.
"So this is the big reveal which is probably the biggest anti-climax ever," Gemma told her fans as she filmed herself.
She continued: "I did try and get a picture of the food but it really didn't look appetising at all – but we did get a Chinese."
Fans may have thought her "big reveal" could've had something to do with being pictured at Paramount studios last week – making many believe she'd landed a new show to rival Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti's travel series.
People speculated that she could be set to star in The Challenge as, according to The Sun, fans took to a forum to say: "I’m guessing it’s The Challenge.
"From MTV, Paramount owns it now and Love island USA people are on it. I think they keep saying this season they are competing for an international Season or something like that."
While a third added: "I would love to see her on The Challenge! The USA version had a few islanders, so I am hoping the UK one will too."
