Michael Owen’s daughter is set to become the richest Love Island contestant ever by launching a clothing and lifestyle brand.
Gemma Owen, 19, has won herself an army of young female fans after appearing on the ITV reality programme.
And now sources close to her say that she is going to capitalise on her popularity amongst the 18-24 generation by increasing her OG swimwear range to sell clothes, accessories and even maybe homeware items.
Gemma Owen, 19, daughter of former Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen and his wife Louise Bonsall, could become Love Island’s richest ever contestant with her lifestyle brand
One told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Gemma hasn’t taken any rubbish off of any of the men in the villa and off the back of that she has become somewhat of a national treasure amongst young, female Love Island fans.
‘They admire her no-nonsense attitude, she has become a role model to them and there is a real opportunity for her to turn this into a massive financial win.’
Miss Owen – an international dressage star and has competed for Great Britain – is likely to be in tomorrow’s final with her boyfriend Luca Bish, a fishmonger from Brighton.
She is the eldest child of former Liverpool and England striker Owen and his wife Louise Bonsall.
Owen has been open about how difficult he has found watching his daughter in the villa.
Tomorrow night’s finale is likely to see Miss Owen and Bish take on Ekin-Su Culuculogu and Davide Sanclimenti, Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, Paige Thorne and Adam Collard and Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri.

Despite this year’s series being one of the most controversial ever, notching up 5000 complaints to television regulator Ofcom over misogynistic behaviour by the male contestants, ITV boss Kevin Lygo said that the broadcaster is ‘very happy with the way it has gone so far.’
He said: ‘When the series comes to an end on Monday, we will always sit down and review what we think about it, what the reaction has been and how well it has done.
Winning combination: Gemma and her partner Luca Bish are favourites to make the final
‘And we have to say this year, remember, it is the best one we have had in many years and think everyone is thoroughly enjoying it.’
He added that they will look to ‘improve’ on it for the next series.
ITV has been under pressure for putting ratings before the welfare of its contestants following the suicides of former cast members Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis. Host Caroline Flack also took her own life in February 2020.
