Love Island’s Indiyah speaks out on Sammy’s ‘biased’ attitude towards Catherine

Former Islander Indiyah Polack has pointed out that she felt Sammy Root’s attitude towards Catherine Agbaje was “biased” in last night’s episode of Love Island.

It comes after many ITV viewers were left fuming over the way he spoke to her amid claims her partner Scott van der Sluis “did not seem to be physically attracted to her”.

Speaking to her co-host Sam Thompson on the Love Island: The Morning After podcast, Indiyah weighed in on the exchange.

Sammy left both Catherine and her partner Scott van der Sluis fuming by claiming that he didn’t see much of a connection between the pair.

Both halves of the couple individually confronted Sammy last night over what he had said, with Catherine even bursting into tears when Sammy doubled down on his comments.

Eventually, Sammy returned later on to apologise for making Catherine cry and said that his words had been poorly phrased.

Indiyah told her podcast listeners: “I think Catherine’s very much aware of her own sauce, I think she knows she’s an attractive girl.

“Quite frankly I don’t think she’s had the best run but I don’t think she’s been undesirable in that villa.”

Later she said of Sammy: “I feel like if he meant ‘touchy feely’ he could have set ‘sexual chemistry’.

“He doesn’t realise that subconsiously he’s being maybe a bit biased because he’s assuming Scott’s ideal type. And he’s just saying it blindly without thinking.”

Sam also agreed with Indiyah about Sammy’s comments, although he pointed out that Catherine might also be lacking in self-confidence.

Tonight, it seems that Sammy’s head is still scrambled after receiving the bombshell news that he will not be able to pair back up with former partner Jess Harding in the next re-coupling.

Love Island: The Morning After podcast is available to listen to on streaming platforms now.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
