Madonna went positively viral over the weekend after she playfully admitted she’s gay to her 2.8 million TikTok followers.
The ‘80s icon took to the popular video-sharing app on Sunday to show a video of herself in the bathroom while dressed in a top reminiscent of her iconic cone bra.
The 64 year old Material Girl attempted to throw a pair of hot pink panties in the bin, but missed.
“If I miss, I’m gay!” she wrote in the caption.
The post, which is part of a wider TikTok trend that sees people deliberately miss what they are aiming for, has since garnered over 1m likes and 14.8 million views.
The mum of six then faces the camera before throwing up her hands and turning away.
It’s not immediately clear whether Madonna was merely doing the trend or whether it was to be treated as an official statement about her sexuality.
Reacting to the viral video, one fan wrote: “Did I just witness Madonna coming out, good for her.”
Another said: “I thought she already came out, like, a decade ago. BUT YAY?”
"Velma & Madonna?! A win for the lesbians,” a third added, noting how Scooby Doo's Velma recently came out as gay.
Some fans were more taken back by the star’s appearance; as one person put it: "I wouldn’t have recognized her. Doesn’t look like madonna.”
Another added: “After seeing all of these celebrities I’ve decided to never have surgery to change my physical appearance, you just need more until it’s too much.”
Madonna has only ever publically dated men, with notable boyfriends including the late Tupac Shakur, Vanilla Ice and Denni Rodman.
However, she has publically kissed women like Britney Spears before.
She’s also been married twice, firstly to Sean Penn from 1985 to 1989 and then again to Guy Ritchie from 2000 to 2008.
The Vogue artist has six kids, having had Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon in 1996 with actor and personal trainer Carlos Leon.
In 2000, Madonna and Guy welcomed their on Rocco into the world.
Since having her biological children, Madonna has also adopted four kids from Malawi, East Africa.
David Banda was adopted in 2006, Mercy James in 2009 and Stella and Esther were adopted in 2017.
