Madonna’s family ‘prepared for worst’ after singer rushed to ICU
Madonna has shared a positive update thanking her loved ones for their support, a month on from her terrifying hospital dash.
The 64-year-old star declared she was feeling “lucky to be alive” after being rushed to hospital after contracting a potentially deadly bacterial infection.
But a month on, with her world tour postponed so she has time to recover, the 4 Minutes hitmaker is now getting back on her feet – and says her loved ones are to thank.
In particular, she took a moment to praise her children, who rushed to be by her side after hearing the news of her time in the ICU.
Posting three photographs on Instagram, the icon can be seen cuddled up to her 17-year-old adopted son, David Banda, in one, and posing with her daughter Lourdes Leon, 26, in another.

In the third, she’s holding a framed polaroid photograph gifted to her by her manager, Guy O’Seary.
Speaking on Instagram, the star shared pictures with her family and friends, and wrote next to the pictures: “Love from family and friends is the best Medicine. One month out of the hospital and I can reflect.
“As a Mother you can really get caught up In the needs Of your children and the seemingly endless giving……….. But when the chips were down my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before.
“It made all the difference. So did the love and support from my friends.”

Speaking of the gift from O’Seary, she added: “If you zoom into this Picture I am holding You will see A Polaroid taken by Andy Warhol of Keith Haring wearing a jacket with Michael Jackson’s face painted on it.
“A perfect triangle of Brilliance. Artist who touched so many lives including my own.”
“I sobbed when I opened this gift because I realized how lucky I am to be alive,” she wrote. “And how fortunate I am to have known these people and so many others who are also gone.”
Thanking her manager O’Seary for the gift, she added: “Thank you to all my angels who protected me and let me Stay to finish doing my work!”

Madonna was rushed to hospital on Saturday, June 24 after being found unresponsive in her home.
It was later rumored she had ‘exhausted’ herself while training for her upcoming Celebration World Tour.
Her children were later photographed arriving at the star’s New York family home, with son Rocco Ritchie, 22, rushing back to the States from a motorbike tour in Romania in order to be with her.
The star also has daughter Mercy, 17; and 10-year-old twins Stella and Estere.
O’Seary later released a statement announcing all tour dates had been postponed after she had spent several days in the ICU fighting the mystery serious bacterial infection, but said at a the time that, thankfully, a full recovery was expected.
