Mandy Moore, 38, took her 5.5 million Instagram followers on a journey yesterday, carefully avoiding mentioning what had actually happened or who exactly she was talking about.
The Princess Diaries actress filmed herself, while pumping milk for her youngest child Oscar, whom she and husband Taylor Goldsmith welcomed in October last year.
The Candy singer wrote across the video: “Dealing with some upsetting personal betrayal stuff from a new person in my life and trying to parce through what to learn from it.(sic)
“Don’t trust people? Don’t be too generous?
“Want to let it go but this was someone who was intimately involved in my life for a short period. Man, some people really let you down.
“The selfishness and lack of respect and entitlement is WILD.”
Shortly after her original post, having had some time to calm down, the mum-of-two added another post to her Instagram story, this time talking fans through her coping strategy as she wrote: “Deep breath. So grateful for my family and babies and this life.
“I won’t let anyone ROB that joy from me. Onward and upward, right?”
A few moments later she added a selfie, flashing a peace sign and a strained smile, saying: “Let them know and let it go.”

Mere hours later, Mandy was dealing with an entirely different work-related conundrum, showing her followers around the soundstage she was filming on.
The large room featured only a ladder, some tyres and a few chairs, but distorted music could be heard echoing off the walls around her.
The actress explained: “No one believes me that there is literally a CrossFit gym directly next to one of our stages.”
A disgruntled Mandy looked quizzically into the camera as she revealed that this meant their quiet scenes were being interrupted by “Linkin Park blasting through the wall”, summing up her post with the hashtag #notasoundstage.
