Love Island host Maya Jama could be set for a big payday to stay on as the show’s presenter.
The star, 28, took over from former host Laura Whitmore for the winter and summer version of this year’s show on ITV, with one source suggesting the star could be set for a payday of £750,000 to stay on the show.
Maya has already landed in Mallorca ahead of the Love Island final on Monday evening (31st July) where she was seen relaxing by the pool ahead of the last show of this summer’s series.
There are five couples left on the show – Tyrique and Ella T, Whitney and Lochan, Sammy and Jess, Molly and Zach and Mitch and Ella B – and Maya is soon set to make an entrance at the villa to host the big final and announce who has won this series.
According to one insider, Maya has been a hit with ITV bosses and they are keen to keep her on for future series.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “ITV absolutely love Maya — she’s gone down a storm with viewers and is perfect with her fun banter and flirty style.
“Execs see her as part of the ongoing success of the show so are preparing a pay increase when it comes to renewing her contract ahead of the next series.
“She’s one of their hottest commodities and they’re determined to keep her happy. Maya really enjoys hosting.
"It’s a dream job and she loves that she has the freedom to do other projects.”
OK! has contacted ITV and representatives for Maya Jama for comment.
Maya has been documenting her time by the pool in Mallorca before her presenting duties in the villa.
The star posted a video of herself in a blue and orange striped bikini as she showed off her natural curls and new honey-brown hair colour as she flipped her ponytail around and then held a glass of wine up to the camera.
In another video, she could be heard singing the Bad B***h song that was made up by Islanders Tyrique Hyde and Whitney Adebayo – which proved to be a huge hit with the show's viewers.
Each of the five remaining Islander couples have been on a romantic date during the last few episodes, with Zach and Molly telling each other they love each other, Tyrique and Ella T officially becoming boyfriend and girlfriend, and Mitch and Ella B going exclusive.
They are all currently still in the running to win the £50,000 prize money in Monday night's final, however, it looks like Mitch and Ella B could be vulnerable, after the other Islanders voted them the least compatible couple on their dates.
They voted for Whitney and Lochan, and the fate of the two couples now lies in the hands of the public, who have been asked to vote.
