Made In Chelsea starNicola Hughes has spoken openly about going on her first solo trip with her six month old daughter, revealing that she thought she was “going to faint” during one particularly stressful moment.
The TV personality, who shares baby Penelope with her husband Charlie Tupper, took to Instagram to shine a light on the realities of parenting after recently flying to Dublin with her little one.
Posting an adorable black and white snap of herself holding Penelope, 33 year old Nicola looked stunning in a chic blazer and headband as she opened up about what was overall a “lovely” mother-daughter trip.
Speaking to her 206,000 followers, the reality TV star wrote: “First solo trip completed [tick emoji] Let’s unpack it,” before talking through her experience.
Writing about navigating her first solo trip with Penelope, Nicola began: “I initially thought I would only need one backpack because I was flying home to Dublin so I didn’t need to bring any of my own things, I just needed Penelope’s essentials – nappies, food, toys, changing bits.”
However, the mum-of-one,who recently revealed that Penelope had been diagnosed hip dysplasia, added that she ended up “filling 3 bags” and that next time she would travel with a carry-on case complete with wheels to make the journey that little bit easier.
The doting mum also added that there were points when she believed she was going to faint while waiting at Malaga airport and claimed that “not a single person wanted to help”.
She added: “There were genuinely points I thought I was going to faint in Malaga airport because of the heat & the weight of everything (terribly planned on my part) Everyone was also so stressed with how busy the airport was so to say not a single person wanted to help me was an understatement [emoji]
“One Spanish lady told me “no preference” when I asked her if I could go ahead in the queue.”
However, despite the situation at Malaga airport, Nicola says that she had a “lovely” trip with her daughter and even praised baby Penelope for being so well behaved throughout the duration of the journey.
“But anyway despite the heat, the queues, the hour & a half delay, it ended up being a lovely trip. Penelope was an angel, I was so proud of her and one air hostess was particularly lovely to me. Wish I caught her name,” she wrote.
Following the heartfelt post, Nicola’s followers were quick to praise the TV personality for her success navigating the milestone trip.
“Well done you [clapping emoji] I get stressed going to the shop on my own haha xx,” wrote one follower.
Meanwhile, another follower simply called her “super mum”.
The news ofNicola’s trip comes just weeks after she gave her Instagram followers a glimpse inside Penelope’s beautiful christening that took place in Dublin back in March.
To celebrate the occasion, Nicola shared a series of adorable black and white snaps from the day, with one sweet snap showing Nicola and Charlie sharing a kiss while holding their baby daughter.
