Ollie Locke has revealed he was forced to change his baby's name before she was even born after a friend of a friend 'went mental'.
Speaking on the Twinning It podcast, co-hosted by twin mums Jenna Good and Alison Perry, author of OMG It's Twins, the Made In Chelsea star explained that he and his husband Gareth had been sharing their baby names with friends, saying: "We tell everyone who we meet what our baby names are."
However this backfired when Binky Felstead told a friend with a similar baby name about their choice.
“One was a girl I knew years ago a beautiful girl. We came up with name similar and I told Binky who told her best friend who had a baby called that as well who went mental at me so we’ve changed it somewhat. It’s a very similar name but not the same name. We’re not the kind of people who want normal names."
Ollie went on to discuss the kind of baby names the couple love, adding: “We love old Greek old roman old Shakespeare almost names. Cressida was a name we nearly went for River but lots of people have that name. For the boy I like names like, Obi and Orthello. I found girls names incredibly difficult but boys names came easily.”
The 36-year-old reality TV personality is eagerly anticipating the summer arrival of his twins, a boy and a girl, through surrogacy. Ollie has been transparent about his journey towards parenthood. However, he confesses that it can be frustrating when people get involved in their business without being asked for their opinion.
Ollie continued: “What annoys me is that people say you have no idea how your life is going to change.
“I do understand, that's why we've gone through IVF, it’s not going to be like it was before, but let me go on my own adventure. It’s condescending sometimes, becomes a bit annoying, it’s bit like ‘you wait darling’.
"They say wait for the mummy police, or our case daddy police.”
Despite these minor frustrations, all seems to be going smoothly with this pregnancy after the couple sadly suffered three miscarriages. Ollie recently shared a new update on his unborn twins, posting a sweet video from their recent 3D scan and ultrasound and revealed that the babies are now at 21 weeks.
Ollie captioned the post: “A perfect Tuesday with some wonderful news, 21 weeks and our two little superstars are doing just perfectly being looked after so wonderfully and today we got to see the clearest we have ever seen of their little faces.”
He continued: “We are never going to stop looking at them! They are so loved by so many already Xxx”
