Popular Netflix show set for major cast shake up as main star is revealed to NOT be returning for series three
One of Netflix’s most popular shows has announced a cast shake up ahead of series three airing in 2024.
Fan are eagerly awaiting the release of the next Bridgeton season which will focus on the loveable Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and her longtime crush Colin Bridgerton’s (Luke Newton) as their story unfolds.
While the official release date is yet to be announced, it has been revealed who from previous series’ will be returning and some familiar faces are missing, including one of the show’s stand out stars.
Phoebe Dynevor will not be returning to season three of the show after she helped propel the show to its dizzy heights of success back in 2020.
The actress played Daphne Bridgerton in the first series as the drama focused on the love life of the fourth Bridgeton child and the Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett (Regé-Jean Page).

Phoebe Dynevor will not be returning to season three of the show after she helped propel the show to its dizzy heights of success back in 2020
Phoebe confirmed the news that she will not be back for series three after she took more of a backseat role in series two.
Her on-screen husband Simon didn’t appear in series two either, and it is assumed that with Phoebe’s absent confirmed, he too will not be back.
Speaking about her Bridgerton future with Screen Rant, she said: ‘Sadly not in season three. Potentially in the future.
‘But season three, I’m just excited to watch as a viewer.’
Meanwhile fan favourites Nicola Coughlan will of course be returning with her love interest Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton, as this series focuses on Penelope’s budding relationship with the Bridgerton boy.
One of the younger Bridgerton sisters, Francesca, is also being replaced as actress Ruby Stokes has stepped away from the role.
Hannah Dodd will instead take over the character after she starred in Netflix’s Anatomy Of A Scandal back in 2022.
Ruby can no longer fulfil the role due to other work commitments after she was cast in another Netflix series, Lockwood & Co.

Claudia Jessie is also back as Eloise Bridgerton (middle left) and Luke Thompson will return as Benedict (right)
Also returning is Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton, alongside his on-screen wife Simone Ashley who will return as Kate Sharma.
Claudia Jessie is also back as Eloise Bridgerton after she found out her best friend Penelope’s secret in series two.
Adjoa Andoh will return as the iconic Lady Danbury and Golda Rosheuvel is hitting the screens again as Queen Charlotte.
Completing the Bridgerton family will also be Luke Thompson as Benedict and Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton.
Season two left hearts racing thanks to the slow burn of Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma’s (Simone Ashley) epic enemies-to-lovers romance.
Now the rumour mill is already churning with fan theories on what might happen next as the focus turns to Penelope and Colin – who have been dubbed Polin by devoted Bridgerton enthusiasts.
The series will be taking inspiration from Julia Quinn’s novel Romancing Mr Bridgerton, which happens to feature some of the most beloved sex scenes in the series.
