Health mystery continues
Although little is still known about Jamie Foxx’s mystery medical condition, the facility that’s now treating him may offer some clues. On May 15, TMZ reported that the Oscar winner is receiving medical treatment at a Chicago rehab facility that specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation. Jamie has been there since late April and is “recovering well,” the report claims.
Ever since Jamie was hospitalized in Atlanta on April 12, the Foxx clan has been very tight-lipped about his health. However, on May 12, Jamie’s daughter Corinne offered an update while combating reports that her dad was in dire shape. “Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday!”
TMZ indicated that the facility offers an adaptive sports and fitness program, which could explain the pickleball game. Further, over the weekend, Jamie’s family members seemed to be in good spirits after visiting him at the facility, which is touted as the top physical medicine and rehabilitation center in the country.

Car chase
In a scene that hit a little too close to home, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan said they were involved in a “near catastrophic” car chase with paparazzi on May 16 in New York City. The couple was in the Big Apple where Meghan accepted an award for her advocacy work. After the duo and the Duchess of Sussex’s mother, Doria Ragland, left the gala and got into a waiting car — which was at one point escorted by NYPD officers — a “swarm” of paparazzi began chasing them in order to get a photo. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and [Meghan’s mom] Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi,” a spokesman for the couple said. “This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers. While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety.”
A source told CNN that there were several close calls with paparazzi, who reportedly zoomed down sidewalks on scooters and bikes to keep up with Harry and Meghan’s SUV. The couple even tried to evade the paparazzi by hopping out of their vehicle and into a taxi cab. Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, died in a 1997 car crash in Paris while being chased by paparazzi. One of the photo agencies whose photographers were in pursuit denied that Harry and Meghan were ever in danger.

Political split
On May 16, oft-parodied Colorado congresswoman Lauren Boebert announced that her 18-year marriage to Jayson Boebert is over. Shortly after the news broke, sensational details of the divorce emerged, with DailyMail.com reporting that Lauren attempted to have her husband served with divorce papers at their home but that he refused to take them from a process server, who in court docs stated that upon approaching Jayson, he observed “that he was drinking a tall glass of beer and cleaning a gun that was sitting on a table.” According to the process server, “Once he learned that he was being served with Dissolution of Marriage papers he was extremely angry. I tried to hand him the documents but [he] did not take them. He started yelling and using profanities and told me that I was trespassing and that he was calling the Sheriff’s Office. I told him I was leaving the documents on the chair outside the door, he closed the door then let the dogs out.”
Married men
The final rose. Two years after former “The Bachelor” star Colton Underwood came out as a gay man, he married political strategist Jordan C. Brown. Their wedding took place at the Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa Valley, California, on May 13 amid three days of celebrations with 200 friends and family members. The grooms, who both wore Tom Ford suits, met in 2021 and got engaged in 2022. On May 14, the former reality TV star shared People magazine’s exclusive photos from the nuptials. The following day, Colton shard a video from the weekend. In a voiceover, he said, “This part of my life is called peace.” He then added, “What a wild few years leading to the most perfect weekend with our friends and families. Thank you for the love and support.”
Repercussions
The fallout from Jimmie Allen’s sexual assault lawsuit has begun. Ever since the country singer’s former day-to-day manager accused him of sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, sex trafficking and emotional distress in the suit filed on May 11, multiple companies, business and organizations who’ve worked with Jimmie have kept their distance. Jimmie’s record label, management company and talent agency all suspended their representation of him; he was also dropped from CMAFest, one of the biggest annual country music events of the year. In addition, his partnership with ice cream company The Frozen Farmer seems to be over too.
Replacement choice
Who’s next? On May 17, the Drudge Report reported that Fox News had decided on Tucker Carlson’s replacement: Execs want Sean Hannity to take over in the coveted 8 p.m. slot and plan to move hosts Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld to prime time as well. Fox News declined to confirm the scoop, with a spokesperson telling Mediaite, “No decision has been made on a new primetime line-up and there are multiple scenarios under consideration.”
Troubling claims
A new documentary is giving a stunning glimpse into Britney Spears’ post-conservatorship life, and the claims are disturbing. “TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom,” which aired on Fox on May 15, reported that the “Toxic” singer lives in “virtual isolation,” drinks coffee and energy drinks “by the gallons,” sometimes stays awake for days and then binge sleeps. Not only that, but the doc suggests that her marriage to Sam Asghari is in shambles and alleges that she hasn’t seen her two teenage sons in well over a year. TMZ further reported that the boys plan to move to Hawaii with their father, Kevin Federline, and his wife and that Britney isn’t expected to object to the relocation, especially given the tattered relationship. For his part, Sam clapped back at the documentary on May 14, calling it “absolutely disgusting.”
